Description
SHS High Speed AEG Motor (Short Type Axis – DJ0007)
This is an SHS high speed AEG motor with a short type axle (shaft), part code DJ0007. SHS is a long-established Chinese maker of AEG internals whose motors, gears and springs are widely used as reliable, affordable replacements and upgrades.
Short-type motors have a shorter axle than the long type used in M4-style rifles, and are fitted to AEGs whose layout calls for them, most commonly AK and G36 series replicas. This high speed version is built to spin quickly, giving a faster rate of fire. It suits players replacing a tired stock motor or building a snappier AEG.
High speed versus high torque
AEG motors are usually tuned either for speed or for torque. A high speed motor spins faster, which raises the rate of fire and improves trigger response. A high torque motor pulls harder against a stiff spring but spins more slowly. Which is right depends on your spring and gear ratio: a high speed motor is typically paired with standard or modest springs, or with speed-oriented setups.
If you are fitting a stronger spring, consider whether a torque motor would be the better choice, or talk to us about a balanced setup.
Fitting
Fitting a short-type motor usually involves removing the gearbox or motor cover, disconnecting the old motor, transferring the pinion gear, and setting the motor height so the pinion meshes cleanly with the bevel gear. Correct motor height is important: too high or too low will cause noise, heat and wear. Make sure the wiring polarity is correct before testing.
Key features
- SHS high speed AEG motor
- Short type axle (shaft)
- Suitable for AK and G36 series AEGs
- Faster rate of fire and sharper trigger response
- Reliable, affordable replacement for a worn stock motor
- Part code DJ0007
Compatibility
Listed as suitable for AK and G36 series AEGs, and other AEGs that take a short-type motor. It will not fit replicas that use a long-type motor, such as most M4 series rifles. Check which motor type your replica uses before ordering. A pinion gear may need to be transferred from your old motor.
Care and maintenance
Check motor height after fitting and listen for grinding or whining. Keep the motor clean and dry, and avoid long, continuous full-auto strings that build up heat. Use a battery suited to your setup and store batteries out of the replica. If a motor runs hot, stop and find the cause.
Who is it for?
Ideal for AK and G36 owners replacing a worn motor or wanting a faster rate of fire, and for techs building speed-focused short-type AEGs.
Please note: Self-assembly is required; consult a tech if you are unsure. The replica, battery and pinion gear tools are not included.
