Description
SOCOM GEAR Full Steel Barrett M107 M82A1 Shell Ejecting GBB Sniper Rifle ( 29 inch) Svoboda
The Socom Gear Barrett M107 is a full steel, shell-ejecting replica of the famous Barrett M82A1/M107 anti-materiel rifle, here in the 29 inch version. Each round is held in its own shell, and the semi-automatic action ejects the spent shell after every shot, making it one of the most dramatic replicas you can own.
The real Barrett is instantly recognisable from its massive muzzle brake, carry handle and bipod, and Socom Gear’s version reproduces that presence in steel. This is a heavyweight collector’s piece and a centrepiece rifle for sniper and support roles at large events.
Build
The upper and lower receivers are steel, as are the bipod and carry handle, with other metal parts in aluminium and a rubber grip and butt pad. The steel construction gives the rifle tremendous weight and solidity, which helps keep it steady on the bipod.
The 29 inch version gives the rifle its full-length profile. The bipod clips on, and the carry handle makes it easier to move between positions.
How it works
The rifle fires from a metal magazine holding ten shells. On firing, the action cycles and ejects the spent shell, so you will want to recover shells after each session or carry plenty of spares. The hop-up is adjustable for fine-tuning range and accuracy.
Socom Gear has offered this rifle in different power configurations over the years, and listings vary, so please read the manual supplied with your rifle and use only the power source it specifies.
Getting started
Read the manual fully before first use, as large shell-ejecting replicas need careful loading and gassing. Load the shells, insert the magazine, set up the bipod on a stable surface and fire a few shots at a safe backstop before adjusting the hop-up.
Have the rifle chronographed at your site before play.
