Description
S&T Armament Nambu Type 100/40 Submachine Gun AEG (Real Wood – STAEG116BRW)
The S&T Armament Type 100/40 is an electric airsoft replica of the Japanese Nambu Type 100 submachine gun, here in the 100/40 pattern with real wood furniture (STAEG116BRW). The Type 100 was the main Japanese submachine gun of the Second World War, and it is a rare sight on airsoft fields, which makes this replica a real talking point for collectors and re-enactors.
S&T Armament is known for producing historical and less common designs that other makers overlook, including WW2 and early Cold War rifles and support weapons. The Type 100/40 follows that tradition, giving Pacific theatre and WW2 players a period-correct electric replica that is cheap to run and practical to use in games.
Build and materials
A European retailer listing for this model (with the same STAEG116BRW code) describes construction in aluminium, steel and wood, with a solid real wood stock and a black body. It gives an overall length of about 860mm and a weight of about 3.8kg, so the replica has a proper, solid feel that suits a wartime submachine gun. An adjustable rear sight is listed.
Real wood furniture gives the gun an authentic look and feel that plastic cannot match, and each stock will have its own grain pattern. Because it is genuine wood, it benefits from a little care to keep it looking its best.
Performance and internals
The same listing describes a reinforced metal gearbox with a quick-change spring system and a high-torque motor, an adjustable hop-up and a 6.03mm inner barrel of about 245mm. It runs on a 7.4V LiPo stick battery with a small Tamiya connector, which is not included. The quick-change spring makes it easier to adjust the gun to suit different site limits.
Please note that the retailer listing is not consistent about fire modes, mentioning both full auto and burst fire, so check the manual or ask us if fire mode matters to you.
On the field
A WW2 submachine gun is at its best in CQB and woodland games, especially themed and re-enactment events, where period-correct kit adds to the experience. The 110-round mid-cap magazine listed with the gun is quiet and realistic, and spare magazines are easy to carry in period-style pouches.

Compatibility
The gun is listed for a 7.4V LiPo stick battery with a small Tamiya connector, so choose a stick battery that fits the space in the stock and has the matching plug, or use a suitable adapter. Spare magazines must be made for the S&T Type 100; standard M4 or AK magazines will not fit. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect and remove the battery after every game, and never store the rifle with the battery plugged in. Charge batteries with a suitable charger, never leave them charging unattended, and store LiPo batteries at a sensible storage charge in a LiPo-safe bag.
Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, as poor or damaged BBs are the main cause of jams and hop-up wear. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a soft cloth, wipe the rifle down after wet or muddy games, and keep it somewhere dry between games.
Wipe the wooden stock with a dry cloth after wet games and let it dry naturally away from heaters. A little furniture wax or gun stock oil now and then helps protect the wood.
Who is it for?
The Type 100/40 suits WW2 and Pacific theatre re-enactors, collectors of unusual replicas and players who want something different for CQB and woodland games.
Please note: The battery and charger are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection when using airsoft replicas, and check your site’s rules and power limits before play.
