Description
S&T PPSH Electric Blowback Rifle (Real Wood) (ST-AEG-01)
The S&T PPSh is an electric blowback airsoft replica of the PPSh-41, the Soviet submachine gun that became one of the defining weapons of the Second World War. With its real wood stock, steel construction and huge drum magazine, it is a striking, characterful piece that is as enjoyable to shoot as it is to display.
S&T builds this replica with an electro-mechanical blowback system, so the bolt cycles with each shot for added realism. It is ideal for WWII games and Eastern Front loadouts, and has strong appeal for collectors.
Build and materials
The barrel shroud, sights, trigger guard and receiver are steel, with an alloy outer barrel and receiver end cap. The stock is real wood with a steel butt plate. The result is a solid, authentic-feeling gun of around 3.03kg and 84cm long, with a fixed stock like the original.
Each wooden stock has its own grain and colour, so small variations between guns are normal.
Performance and internals
Inside is a proprietary gearbox shell with 18:1 steel gears running on 8mm steel bearings, with rear wiring and a quick-change spring. The 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel is around 275mm long, and the rotary hop-up is adjusted through the ejection port when the charging handle is pulled back and locked.
The electro-mechanical blowback gives a satisfying sense of movement as you fire, which adds to the WWII experience.
Magazine and battery
The PPSh comes with a 2000-round steel drum magazine, so you will rarely need to reload during a game. It also accepts S&T PPSh stick and drum magazines, though not Snow Wolf magazines.
The battery sits inside the stock and is reached through the cleaning kit port in the butt plate. A 7.4V LiPo in a block configuration with a mini Tamiya connector is recommended.

Compatibility

Use a 7.4V block-style battery with a mini Tamiya connector that fits the stock, and 0.25g seamless BBs for the best results.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect and remove the battery whenever the rifle is not in use, and store it separately at a sensible storage charge. Never leave a battery plugged in overnight or in a hot vehicle, and only charge with a charger suited to the battery chemistry.
Run a cleaning rod with a soft patch through the inner barrel every few games, or whenever accuracy drops, to clear dirt and BB residue. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, as cheap or damaged BBs are the most common cause of jams and hop-up wear.
Keep the outside of the gun dry and wipe off mud and moisture after a game. Store it in a padded bag or case away from damp, and have a qualified technician look at the gearbox if you notice changes in sound, rate of fire or trigger response.
Wipe the wooden stock dry after damp games and treat it occasionally with a suitable wood oil or wax. Wind the drum magazine gently and do not overwind it.
Who is it for?
The PPSh suits WWII and Eastern Front players, reenactors and collectors who want an authentic-looking, wood and steel SMG that is enjoyable to shoot.
Please note: Battery and charger are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s power limits before play.
