This is the Stark Arms magazine follower, part code VGC0MAG070, shown as item 80 on the parts diagram. The follower sits under the column of BBs in the magazine and is pushed up by the follower spring, feeding each BB to the top of the magazine in turn.

Signs it needs replacing

Care and maintenance
