The Stinger 4×20 is a compact, fixed-magnification telescopic sight supplied with mounts, so it arrives ready to fit to a suitable rail without having to buy rings separately. As the name tells you, it gives a 4x magnification through a 20mm objective lens, a simple and well-proven combination that has been a favourite on air rifles and airsoft rifles for many years.
A 4×20 scope is a sensible first optic. It brings targets closer and makes it easier to place shots on smaller targets in the garden or at the range, while staying short and light enough not to unbalance a rifle. There are no magnification rings to adjust and very little to go wrong, which makes it a good choice for younger shooters, newcomers and anyone who simply wants a dependable, no-fuss sight.
Using a fixed 4x scope
A fixed 4x magnification gives a clear, steady picture at the sort of distances most air rifle and airsoft shooting takes place. Because the magnification is modest, the field of view stays reasonably wide, so it is easier to find your target quickly and follow it than with a high-powered scope. The small objective lens keeps the scope low and slim on the rifle.
When you first mount the scope, set it so that you get a full, clear picture without a dark ring around the edge when your head is in your natural shooting position. Then zero it by firing a few groups at a fixed distance and adjusting the elevation and windage turrets until your shots land where the crosshair sits.
Mounting
The scope comes with mounts, so you can fit it straight away to a rifle with a matching rail. Tighten the mount screws evenly and gradually, a little at a time on each side, so that the scope tube is held firmly without being crushed. Once it is zeroed, a small mark across the ring and tube makes it easy to see if anything has moved.

Compatibility
The scope is supplied with mounts for fitting to a rail. Rails differ between rifles (for example dovetail grooves on many air rifles and 20mm Picatinny/Weaver rails on many airsoft replicas), so please check that the supplied mounts match the rail on your rifle before ordering, or ask us and we will be glad to help.
A lightweight 4×20 scope is best suited to spring, gas and electric airsoft rifles and to lower-powered air rifles. For higher-recoil rifles, a scope specifically rated for that use is the safer choice.
Care and maintenance
Keep the lenses clean with a soft lens cloth or lens pen, and blow or brush away grit before wiping so you do not scratch the coatings. Avoid household glass cleaners. Fit lens caps or a cover when the rifle is being carried or stored.
If the scope gets wet, wipe it down and let it dry naturally at room temperature. Check the mount screws from time to time, especially after transport, and do not over-tighten them.
