Thunder B Smoke Grenade Style (Pack of 3 with Core)
The Thunder B is one of the best-known non-pyrotechnic sound grenades in airsoft. Made by Hakkotsu and also sold under the APS name, it uses a CO2 capsule rather than explosives to produce a very loud bang. This pack contains a core, the reusable firing unit, together with three cylindrical shells styled on a smoke grenade, so you have everything you need to get started with the system apart from the CO2.
Because it is gas-powered rather than pyrotechnic, the Thunder B is accepted at many sites where pyro is restricted, and it is a favourite for room clearing, objective play and scenario games. The smoke grenade style shells give it a distinctive cylindrical shape that suits modern and milsim loadouts.
How it works
The core screws onto the top of a shell and contains the firing pin and a spoon held in place by a pin, much like a real grenade. Pull the pin and throw: the spoon flies off, releasing the firing pin, which pierces a 12g CO2 capsule. The gas builds pressure inside the shell until the shell bursts apart with a loud bang. The delay before it goes off is usually a few seconds, though it can vary. The shells are designed to break into large pieces in a controlled way, and are replaced after each use while the core is kept.

Compatibility
Uses standard 12g CO2 capsules, sold separately. Replacement Thunder B shells are available in different colours and shapes and fit the same core. Use only genuine Thunder B shells with the core.
Care and maintenance
After use, collect the core and the pieces of the shell from the field. Remove the spent CO2 capsule, check the core for dirt and damage, and wipe it clean before storing. Store the core and spare shells in a dry place and keep CO2 capsules away from heat. Never assemble a grenade with a capsule until you are ready to use it.
