Description
Tokyo Marui M4 Sopmod AEG (Black)
The Tokyo Marui M4 SOPMOD is an electric replica of the M4 carbine in its SOPMOD configuration, the special operations modification kit that gave the M4 a railed handguard and a range of mountable accessories, finished in black. It is one of the most familiar rifle shapes in airsoft and a natural base for a modern special forces loadout.
Tokyo Marui is the Japanese maker whose electric guns set the benchmark for out-of-the-box reliability and accuracy. A Marui M4 is a dependable main rifle for skirmishing and a sensible platform to build on, with a huge range of compatible magazines, accessories and parts.
Design and handling
The SOPMOD layout gives you a railed handguard for a grip, light or laser, a top rail for an optic, and a collapsible M4-style stock that adjusts to your length of pull and body armour. The carbine-length barrel keeps the rifle easy to handle in buildings and woodland alike.
The controls are standard M4: pistol grip, selector above the grip, magazine release on the right of the magazine well and a charging handle at the rear of the upper receiver. Please check the product images for the exact rail, stock and sight arrangement of this version.
Getting started
Before first use, charge a suitable battery and fit it as described in the manual, checking the space available and the connector type. Load a magazine with good seamless BBs and start with the hop-up turned off, then add hop a little at a time until BBs fly flat without climbing at the end of their flight.
Keep a note of the hop setting that suits your favourite BB weight so you can return to it quickly, and have the rifle chronographed at your site before play.

Compatibility
Tokyo Marui M4-pattern AEGs accept a very wide range of M4/M16 AEG magazines, though fit varies a little between brands, so test a spare before buying several. Rails take standard 20mm optics, lights, lasers and grips.
Tokyo Marui makes its standard M4 rifles and its Next Generation (Recoil Shock) M4s with different internals and magazines, so check which series any magazine or part is listed for before ordering. We list a Laylax Prometheus inner barrel listed for Marui SOPMOD and M4A1 rifles separately; ask us if you are unsure what suits this rifle.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it separately at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the replica. Charge LiPo batteries with a proper balance charger, keep them in a LiPo-safe bag and never leave them charging unattended; NiMH packs should be charged with a smart charger that stops when the pack is full.
Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to clear dirt and residue, which keeps the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.
Who is it for?
The M4 SOPMOD suits players who want a dependable, recognisable M4 from one of the most trusted makers in airsoft, from first-time buyers to experienced players building a special forces impression.
Please note: A battery, charger and BBs are not listed as included, and the product name does not state the box contents, so please check with us before ordering. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
