Description
Tokyo Marui P226 Magazine Lip
This is a replacement magazine lip for Tokyo Marui P226 gas pistol magazines. Tokyo Marui is the Japanese maker whose gas blowback pistols are regarded as a benchmark for consistency and accuracy, and its P226 series is a long-standing favourite. The magazine lip is the part at the top of the magazine that holds the next BB in position ready to be loaded into the chamber.
Because it is struck by the slide and nozzle every time the pistol cycles, the lip can wear, crack or deform over time, especially in heavily used magazines. A worn lip is a common cause of misfeeds, double-feeds and BBs falling out of the magazine, so replacing it is an inexpensive way to restore reliable feeding.
Signs your lip needs replacing
If your pistol starts to misfeed, BBs pop out of the top of the magazine when you handle it, or the magazine fails to hold the last few BBs, the lip may be worn or cracked. Inspect it under good light. Small cracks or chips at the front edge are common signs of wear.
Fitting
Fitting a magazine lip usually involves removing the follower and lip from the top of the magazine, so make sure the magazine is completely empty of gas before you start. Note the position of every part and spring as you remove them. If you are unsure, ask an airsoft technician.
