Description
Tokyo Marui SGR-12 Tri-Shot Shotgun (Black)
The Tokyo Marui SGR-12 is an electric, fully automatic tri-shot shotgun, styled after the AA-12 combat shotgun. Instead of a pump action, it uses an AEG mechanism to fire three BBs at once from three barrels on every shot, in both semi and full auto. The result is a shotgun with an enormous volume of fire, which has made it a cult favourite at CQB sites.
Tokyo Marui is the Japanese maker whose designs set the standard for much of the airsoft industry, and the SGR-12 shows its engineering at its best: a mechanism that fires three BBs per shot reliably and accurately, with a hop-up that adjusts for each barrel.
Build and materials
The housing is polymer, built around a metal inner frame for strength. The trigger, fire selector, front and rear sights and barrel are metal, so the parts that take the most handling are tough and durable. The shotgun comes with a realistic 12-gauge-style box magazine that holds 90 BBs.
The battery fits in the stock pipe and can be a 7.4V LiPo or an 8.4V 1300mAh Ni-MH mini S type pack.
Performance and internals
Every pull of the trigger fires three BBs from three barrels, either one shot at a time on semi or continuously on full auto. The hop-up is adjustable for each barrel, so you can bring the three BBs into a tight, consistent group or let them spread for close-range coverage.
Because it uses an electric mechanism, there is no pump to rack and no gas to manage, and the SGR-12 keeps working in cold weather when gas guns struggle.
Using it on the field
The SGR-12 is at its best indoors and in close woodland. Its three-BB spread makes hits easy on moving targets, and full auto lets you suppress a doorway or corridor. A larger drum magazine of more than 3,000 rounds is available separately for players who want to hold a position for longer.

Compatibility
Use Tokyo Marui SGR-12 magazines, including the 90-round magazine and the separately available drum magazine. Batteries must fit the stock pipe: a 7.4V LiPo or an 8.4V Ni-MH mini S pack. Use high-quality seamless 6mm BBs, as with all Tokyo Marui replicas; 0.20g or 0.25g suit most CQB settings.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out of the gun whenever you are not using it, and store LiPo batteries at storage charge in a fire-resistant bag. Never leave a battery charging unattended.
Use good quality, seamless 6mm BBs; cheap or damaged BBs are the most common cause of jams and can damage the hop-up rubber. Run a cleaning rod with a dry patch through the inner barrel every few games, and if a BB jams, clear it with the rod from the muzzle end with the battery removed.
After each game wipe the outside down to remove dirt and moisture, and let the gun dry at room temperature if it has been out in the rain. Turn the hop-up back off when storing it for long periods, and leave the gun on safe and on semi rather than full auto, so the spring is not left compressed.
Who is it for?
The SGR-12 is for CQB players who want maximum firepower at close range, and for anyone who wants a fun, unusual and very effective electric shotgun.
Please note: Battery and charger are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s rules on shotguns, full auto and minimum engagement distances before play.
