Description
WE 1911 Magazine Lip
This is a replacement magazine lip for WE 1911 gas pistol magazines. WE (WE-Tech) is a Taiwanese maker of gas blowback replicas, and it supplies spare parts so magazines can be repaired rather than replaced. This lip is listed for magazines of WE’s single-stack 1911 pistols.
The magazine lip is the part at the top of the magazine that holds the next BB in position, ready to be pushed into the hop-up by the loading nozzle. It also helps form the path the gas takes from the magazine into the nozzle. Because it is pressed against and passed over by the nozzle and slide every time the pistol cycles, the lip slowly wears, and it can crack or deform after a drop or years of heavy use.
Signs the lip needs replacing
Typical symptoms of a worn lip are misfeeds and double-feeds, BBs popping out of the top of the magazine when it is handled, the last few BBs not feeding, or gas escaping around the top of the magazine instead of going through the nozzle. Inspect the lip under good light: chips, splits or a flattened front edge are clear signs it should be changed.
Fitting
Make sure the magazine is completely empty of gas before you start. The lip is usually held in place by a pin or by the top cover of the magazine; on some designs the follower and spring need to be controlled while the lip is removed, so work carefully and note the position of every part. Fit the new lip, reassemble in reverse order, then load a few BBs and check that they are held securely before refilling with gas.

Care and maintenance
Use good-quality seamless BBs, keep the top of the magazine free of dirt and grit, and wipe it with a cloth after games in muddy or dusty conditions. Apply a drop of silicone oil to the magazine seals and the gas route seal now and then so they stay supple.
Avoid dropping loaded magazines onto hard ground, which can chip or crack the lip, and store magazines in a pouch or case rather than loose in a kit bag. Do not leave magazines charged with gas for long periods in a hot car or in direct sunlight.
Who is it for?
This part is for owners of WE 1911 gas pistols who want to cure feeding problems caused by a worn or damaged magazine lip, or keep a spare on hand.
Please note: This listing is for the lip only; the magazine is not included. Always wear suitable eye protection when testing a replica.
