Description
Well Micro Mini Gun AEG (WE23-S)
The Well WE23-S is a rotary minigun-style AEG that recreates the look and feel of a multi-barrel support weapon, with five spinning barrels, a 1,200-round magazine and a rate of fire to match. It makes a dramatic, crowd-pleasing support replica for skirmishes, milsim events and themed games.
Well has packed a surprising amount of engineering into the WE23-S. Each of the five barrels has its own inner barrel and hop-up, a second motor spins the barrels, and the magazine is wound automatically by the gun itself, so all you need to do is load, aim and hold down the trigger.
Barrels and hop-up
There are five aluminium outer barrels, each 8 inches long and braced together by an aluminium ring at the muzzle end. Each has a male 14mm counter-clockwise thread with a concealed thread protector. Inside are five 6.03mm tightbore inner barrels, each 226mm long, and each with its own independent TDC hop-up unit adjusted by a grub screw. The adjusters are reached from inside the front of the magazine well by rotating the barrels by hand. The hop-up units accept standard AEG buckings and inner barrels, which makes maintenance and tuning straightforward.
Performance and internals
A standard motor with a height adjustment screw drives a rear-wired gearbox, while a second motor rotates the barrel cluster. The WE23-S is designed for an 11.1V LiPo with a Deans T-plug connector, fitted in the pistol grip, which has room for larger batteries; an 11.1V 1450mAh LiPo is recommended. On that set-up it fires at around 36 rounds per second, and 0.25g BBs are suggested. It fires on safe and full auto only, with a push-through safety that locks the trigger.
The 1,200-round spring-assisted magazine is wound automatically by the gun’s internal motor. Side windows show how many BBs remain, the release is on the front of the magazine and reachable from either side, and you fill it by removing the rear plate.
Build and handling
The pistol grip, receiver, handguard and carry handle are high-density polymer, with steel QD sling socket inserts, body pins and screws. The gun is about 58cm long and weighs approximately 3.4kg unloaded. Controls are ambidextrous, the M-LOK handguard has slots at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions, and a 20mm Picatinny rail on the carry handle includes fixed open back-up iron sights. QD sling sockets sit either side of the carry handle, with conventional sling loops at the front.

Compatibility
Use an 11.1V LiPo with a Deans connector that fits in the pistol grip. Spare WE23-S 1,200-round magazines are compatible. The hop-up units take standard AEG buckings and inner barrels. Use 6mm BBs, ideally 0.25g.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect the battery whenever the gun is not in use, and store LiPo batteries at storage charge in a fire-safe bag. Use only good quality seamless BBs, as a large-capacity feed system will happily pass a damaged BB into a barrel. Empty the magazine after each game day, keep the gun dry, and wipe off mud and dust before storing it. If accuracy drops, clean the inner barrels with a cleaning rod and a little isopropyl alcohol on a cloth, and re-check the hop-up settings.
