Description
D|Boys Spring Guide for V2/V3 Gearboxes (Metal)
This D|Boys metal spring guide fits both Version 2 and Version 3 AEG gearboxes, covering a huge range of rifles from M4 and MP5 patterns to AK and G36 types. The spring guide sits at the rear of the gearbox and supports the main spring along its length, keeping it straight while the piston compresses and releases it on every shot.
Metal spring guides are a popular upgrade over standard plastic parts. They are more rigid and resist cracking, which matters most in rifles with stronger springs or those that see heavy use.
Why it matters
A spring that is not properly supported can bow inside the piston, wasting energy, causing inconsistent power and wearing the piston and cylinder. A good spring guide keeps the spring centred so each shot gets the same, consistent push. If your original guide is cracked or worn, replacing it is an easy improvement during a gearbox service.
Fitting
Fitting requires opening the gearbox. With the battery removed and the gearbox decocked, the spring guide is removed from the rear of the shell and the new one dropped into place. Check that the spring sits freely on the guide and that the guide seats properly in the shell before closing up.

Compatibility
Designed for Version 2 and Version 3 gearboxes. Rifles with quick-change spring systems or non-standard gearboxes may need a specific guide, so check before ordering. Use it with a spring that suits your setup and your site’s power limits.
Care and maintenance
At each gearbox service, inspect the guide and spring for wear, and apply a light coat of grease to the spring. Always have your rifle chronographed after any internal work.
Who is it for?
Players and techs servicing or upgrading V2 and V3 AEGs who want a robust metal spring guide.
Please note: Always remove the battery and release spring tension before opening a gearbox.
