KWA QRF MOD.2 – Black

The KWA QRF MOD.2 is a compact AEG designed from the ground up for close-quarters play. Styled after a modern pistol-calibre carbine, it is short, light and quick to handle, making it easy to move through buildings and tight woodland and fast to bring onto target. KWA describe the QRF MOD.2 as setting the standard for what a CQB AEG should be.

KWA are known for designing and building their own gearboxes and internal parts, and the QRF series is a showcase for that engineering. The MOD.2 uses a pistol-calibre style magwell, which gives it a distinctive SMG look and lets it share magazines with some of KWA’s other models.

Performance and internals

Inside is KWA’s AEG 2.5 gearbox with the Variable Performance System (VPS), which lets the power output be adjusted within a set range. Combined with a quick-change spring system, this makes it straightforward to set the gun up for the limits at different sites. A high-torque motor and high-speed gear set deliver a crisp trigger response, while KWA’s Switch Life Extender helps protect the trigger contacts from wear. The gearbox accepts drop-in MOSFET units such as the GATE Titan if you want to add electronic trigger features later.

Handling and ergonomics

The QRF MOD.2 measures approximately 27.6in (about 700mm) with the stock extended and 22.6in (about 575mm) retracted, and weighs around 2.5kg (5.48lb) empty. The PDW-style stock has a cheek rest for a consistent aiming position, and the M-LOK handguard gives you freedom to mount rail sections, lights and grips where you want them. The fire selector, magazine release and sling adapter are ambidextrous, so it works equally well for left- and right-handed players. An anodised flash hider finishes the front end.

Barrel and magazine

The 184mm inner barrel sits inside a 6.75in outer barrel, keeping the gun compact while the adjustable hop-up lets you fine-tune range and flight for your BB weight. The supplied magazine holds 120 rounds, and the pistol-calibre magwell is compatible with QRF, TK.45 and TK.45c magazines.

Compatibility

Accepts KWA QRF, TK.45 and TK.45c magazines. The M-LOK handguard takes standard M-LOK rail sections and accessories. Check battery size and connector against the battery space before buying a battery.

Care and maintenance

Remove the battery after each game and never store the gun with a battery connected. Clean the inner barrel regularly and use good-quality seamless BBs. After a spring change or VPS adjustment, always chrono the gun with your chosen BB weight. Wipe it down after wet or muddy games and store it in a dry place.
