Description
Reinforced Tappet Plate V2
This reinforced tappet plate is a replacement and upgrade part for Version 2 AEG gearboxes, the type used in M4, MP5 and many other common AEGs. The tappet plate works the air nozzle back and forth on every shot, so a strong, accurately made plate is essential for consistent feeding and good air seal.
Standard tappet plates can wear, crack or lose their springiness over time, particularly in guns with a high rate of fire. A reinforced plate is designed to stand up to that hard use, making it a sensible choice both as a repair part and as part of a general gearbox upgrade.
How it works
As the sector gear turns, it pulls the tappet plate back, drawing the air nozzle away from the hop-up chamber so the next BB can drop into place. The tappet plate spring then pushes the nozzle forward, chambering the BB and sealing it in before the piston fires. If the plate is worn or flexing, the nozzle may not move far enough or consistently enough, leading to misfeeds, double feeds or inconsistent power.
When to replace it
Replace your tappet plate if it is cracked, if the nozzle arm is worn, or if your AEG has started to misfeed with no other obvious cause. It is also worth fitting a reinforced plate when you upgrade to a faster motor, a higher-voltage battery or a high-speed gear set, as these increase the load on the plate.
Key features
- Tappet plate for Version 2 gearboxes
- Reinforced construction to resist wear and cracking
- Supports consistent BB feeding
- Suitable as a replacement or upgrade part
- A sensible addition to high rate of fire builds
Compatibility
Designed for Version 2 gearboxes. Tappet plates for Version 3 (AK-type) and other gearbox versions are different and are not interchangeable. Check that your air nozzle length matches your replica, as the nozzle and tappet plate work together.
Care and maintenance
Fitting requires the gearbox to be opened. When fitting, check the tappet plate moves freely without binding, refit the tappet return spring correctly, and do not grease the nozzle or the hop-up area. A light film of grease where the tappet plate slides against the gearbox shell can help smooth operation.
Who is it for?
Players and techs servicing or upgrading Version 2 AEGs who want a robust tappet plate for reliable feeding.
Please note: Fitting requires gearbox disassembly and should be carried out by someone with AEG technical experience.
