Use and setup
Bearings and bushings support moving shafts within an airsoft mechanism. Selecting the correct size and arrangement is important when servicing a gearbox, since the surrounding shell and gear shafts determine which version can be fitted.
Compare the stated diameter, quantity and platform information with the existing parts. A bearing and a solid bushing use different designs, so check the actual item described rather than treating the names as equivalent. Confirm that the full assembly provides the correct support and clearance for the gears.
Care and checks
During fitting, check seating, shaft movement and gear alignment before completing the gearbox. Shimming and lubrication should suit the mechanism and components used. Test progressively after assembly and investigate binding or unusual noise. A replacement support component will not compensate for an incorrectly aligned shaft or damage elsewhere in the gearbox.
