The Spec Ledger Rest by WSB is a rod rest head designed for ledger and feeder fishing. It holds your rod steady at the angle you choose, so you can watch the tip for bites and let the line run freely when a fish takes the bait.
When you are fishing a static bait on the bottom, a stable rod is essential. A rod that moves in the wind or slips on its rest makes it hard to read small bites on the quivertip, and can even be pulled in by a big fish. A dedicated ledger rest gives you a secure, consistent set-up, session after session.
Using it on the bank
Screw the rest onto a standard bank stick, push the bank stick firmly into the ground and set the height so the rod sits at a comfortable angle for watching the tip. For quivertip and feeder fishing many anglers set the rod almost parallel to the bank, with the tip close to the water, which helps keep the line out of the wind. Make sure the line can run freely through the rest so a taking fish does not feel resistance.
Front or back rest
A ledger rest is usually used at the front, supporting the rod near the tip ring section, with a back rest or butt grip holding the handle. Pairing it with a suitable back rest gives a stable, level platform that keeps your rod exactly where you want it.
