Description
Stiffi 140 Reel
The Stiffi 140 is a fixed spool reel from the popular Stiffi range, a simple, well-priced reel that comes ready spooled with line so you can fit it to a rod and start fishing straight away. The 140 is one of the rear drag models in the range, alongside the 130 and 150.
It has the features that matter on an everyday reel: an anti-twist line roller, a ball bearing for a smoother retrieve, a push-button spool release and an ambidextrous handle. That makes it a sensible choice for beginners, younger anglers and anyone who wants a dependable spare reel in the bag.
Features in use
The rear drag sits at the back of the reel body, where it is easy to reach and adjust while you are playing a fish without your hand getting close to the line. The anti-twist line roller helps the line wind back on smoothly, cutting down on the twists and tangles that can plague cheaper reels.
The push-button spool release lets you take the spool off quickly, so you can change line or swap to a spare spool without tools. The handle can be fitted on either side, suiting left and right-handed anglers.
Getting started
Because the reel comes ready spooled, all you need to do is attach it to the reel seat, thread the line through the rings and tie on your rig. Set the drag so it gives line under a firm, steady pull rather than locking up, and check it again whenever you change to a heavier or lighter set-up.

Compatibility
Fits standard reel seats on float, ledger, spinning and general-purpose rods. The 140 is a mid-size model in the range; the 150 is a little larger and there are bigger Stiffi models for beachcasting. Check the line strength on the spool suits the fishing you plan to do, and re-spool if needed.
Care and maintenance
Rinse the reel gently in fresh water after any trip to the coast and leave it to dry before storing it. Back off the drag between sessions so the washers do not stay compressed. A drop of reel oil on the line roller and handle knob now and then keeps everything turning freely, and check the line for wear regularly.
Who is it for?
A good first reel for beginners and juniors, and a practical spare or holiday reel for experienced anglers who want something simple and ready to fish.
Please note: The rod is not included.
