Description
Tip Light MK4
The Tip Light MK4 is a small light that fits to your rod tip so you can see bites clearly when fishing after dark. It is a cleaner, longer-lasting alternative to chemical glow sticks, and a single light will see you through many night sessions.
It comes complete with batteries and has a life of over 200 hours, so you can fit it and forget about it. It is supplied in assorted colours.
Tip lights or chemical lights?
Chemical lights are cheap but last one session and then have to be thrown away. A battery tip light costs a little more at first but lasts for many trips, gives a steady, even glow and avoids the waste of used glow sticks, making it the better long-term choice for regular night anglers.
How to use it
Whip or tape the light to the rod tip, just below the tip ring, so it moves with every knock and pull. Make sure it is secure but does not touch the line. Once it is dark, watch the light against the sky: a bite shows as a clear nod, rattle or pull-round of the light.
Night fishing
Tip lights are popular with beach and pier anglers fishing for whiting, codling and rays after dark, and with coarse anglers legering for eels, tench and bream at night. Because the light is reusable, it is more economical and less wasteful than single-use chemical lights over a season.
