Description

Galaxy G51 Spring Pistol (1:1 Scale – Blue)

The Galaxy G51 is a 1:1 scale spring pistol finished in blue. Galaxy is well known for its affordable spring pistols, and the G51 follows the same approach: a full-size replica that is simple to use and costs nothing to run beyond BBs. Rack the slide to cock it, take your shot, and repeat.

Being made at 1:1 scale means it is the same size as the pistol it is modelled on, so it feels right in the hand and fits the grip and sight picture you would expect. The blue colour clearly identifies it as a replica. It is a great choice for target practice at home, for getting used to safe pistol handling, or as a simple, inexpensive backup to keep in your kit bag.

How it works

Spring pistols use a compressed spring to power each shot. Pulling the slide back sets the spring and chambers a BB; squeezing the trigger releases the spring, which drives a piston forward and pushes air behind the BB. It is a single shot per cock, and because no gas is involved, performance does not change with the temperature.

The deliberate pace encourages good shooting habits. With no recoil or noise from gas, it is easy to concentrate on sight alignment and a smooth trigger squeeze, and to see exactly where each BB lands.

Handling and size

Full 1:1 scale means a proper full-size grip rather than the shrunken proportions found on some budget replicas. That makes it comfortable for adult hands and helps the pistol point naturally. It is light enough to cock easily, and the controls are simple to learn.

Getting the best from it

Load the magazine carefully, one BB at a time, and avoid forcing more in than it is designed to hold. Shoot at a safe backstop such as a cardboard box filled with old cloth, or a purpose-made BB trap, so that BBs are caught rather than bouncing back. Paper targets at five to ten metres are a good starting distance, and moving back gradually as your grouping tightens is an enjoyable way to measure progress.

If shots start to drift or the pistol feels less lively, check the BBs first, as damaged or dirty BBs are the usual culprit, then give the inner barrel a quick clean. A spring pistol that is looked after in this simple way will give a lot of shooting for very little cost.

Key features

  • 1:1 scale replica
  • Spring powered: no gas, CO2 or battery needed
  • Manually cocked, one shot per cock
  • Blue finish for easy identification
  • Consistent performance in any temperature
  • Simple, low-maintenance design
  • Low running costs
  • From Galaxy’s range of spring pistols

Compatibility

Fires standard 6mm airsoft BBs; 0.12g to 0.20g is a good range for a spring pistol. Use the magazine supplied with the pistol. Because it is full scale, some holsters made for the same pistol shape may fit, but always check the fit before relying on one.

Care and maintenance

Spring pistols are about as simple as airsoft gets, which makes them very easy to look after. Wipe the pistol down after use, keep it free of grit and moisture, and run a cleaning rod with a clean patch through the inner barrel occasionally to keep it shooting straight. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs; light 0.12g BBs and poorly made ammunition are the most common causes of jams and inconsistent shots.

Do not store the pistol cocked, as leaving the spring compressed for long periods weakens it over time. Avoid dry-firing (firing without BBs) more than you need to, keep the magazine spring in good order by not leaving it fully loaded for weeks at a time, and store the pistol indoors at room temperature.

Who is it for?

The G51 suits newcomers, casual target shooters and anyone who wants an affordable full-size replica pistol for practice at home without the cost of gas.

Please note: BBs are not included unless stated above. Always wear suitable eye and face protection and check the safety rules at your site before play.
