This version is non-blowback, so the slide stays still when you fire and the gas goes into shooting BBs rather than cycling the slide.

How it works
A 12g CO2 capsule supplies the power. Because the pistol is non-blowback, there is no slide movement to cock the hammer; instead the double-action trigger does the work, so each pull of the trigger fires a shot. The trigger pull is longer and heavier than on a blowback pistol, but it is consistent and easy to learn.
Non-blowback pistols use less gas per shot than blowback designs, so you generally get more shots from each capsule. CO2 also copes with cool weather better than green gas, which makes the SP2022 a practical choice all year round.
Handling and design
The SP2022 has a full-size service-pistol grip with a comfortable, ergonomic shape. The hop-up is fixed, so there is nothing to adjust: load, insert and shoot. Use 0.20g BBs as a starting point and stick with one weight for consistent results.
Getting started
To load, remove the magazine, fit a fresh 12g capsule as shown in the manual and tighten it until it pierces, then fill the BB channel with clean 6mm BBs. Insert the magazine firmly and fire a few shots at a safe backstop to get used to the trigger. As the capsule runs low you will notice the BBs slowing and dropping; replace the capsule at that point rather than firing it completely empty, as low-pressure shots can leave a BB sitting in the barrel.
For practice, set up paper or sticky targets in front of a safe backstop at a fixed distance and work on a smooth, steady trigger pull. The double-action trigger rewards a consistent squeeze, and once you have mastered it on the SP2022 you will find most other pistols easy to shoot well.

Compatibility
Uses standard 12g CO2 capsules. Buy spare magazines made for the KWC SP2022, as CO2 magazines are model-specific. Holsters for SP2022-pattern pistols are the best fit; check before buying a universal holster.
Care and maintenance
Do not leave a pierced CO2 capsule in the pistol for long periods, as constant pressure wears the seals. Before inserting a new capsule, put a drop of silicone oil on its tip to keep the piercing seal supple. Store the pistol unloaded and dry, wipe it over after outdoor use and clean the barrel with a rod and patch if accuracy falls off. Never use petroleum-based lubricants.
