Description
Snow Wolf Real Wood M1938 AEG
The Snow Wolf M1938 is an electric airsoft replica of the Beretta Model 1938, the Italian submachine gun used widely during the Second World War. With its long wooden stock, cooling jacket and elegant lines, it is one of the most handsome SMGs of the era, and this real wood replica does it justice.
Snow Wolf specialise in historical replicas, and the M1938 is built largely from metal and real wood, with no plastic imitation parts. It is a superb choice for WWII and Italian-front themed games, and a fine display piece.
Build and materials
The furniture is real wood, giving the M1938 the look and feel of a period weapon, while the main structure is metal. At around 945mm long and around 3.15kg, it is a substantial gun with a rifle-like stock, which makes it steady and comfortable to shoot.
Each wooden stock has its own grain and colour, so small variations between guns are normal.
Performance and internals
Inside is a metal Version 6 gearbox with steel gears, metal bushings and a long-type motor, driving an inner barrel of around 320mm. The hop-up is adjustable, so you can tune it for your preferred BB weight.
The M1938 feeds from a low-capacity magazine, holding around 50 BBs. Low-cap magazines encourage controlled, period-correct play, and many WWII events require or prefer them.
Battery and set-up
A mini 8.4V battery with a Tamiya Mini connector is recommended. Check the battery space before you buy, and take care when routing wires so they are not pinched.

Recommended BB weights are 0.20g to 0.25g.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect and remove the battery whenever the rifle is not in use, and store it separately at a sensible storage charge. Never leave a battery plugged in overnight or in a hot vehicle, and only charge with a charger suited to the battery chemistry.
Run a cleaning rod with a soft patch through the inner barrel every few games, or whenever accuracy drops, to clear dirt and BB residue. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs, as cheap or damaged BBs are the most common cause of jams and hop-up wear.
Keep the outside of the gun dry and wipe off mud and moisture after a game. Store it in a padded bag or case away from damp, and have a qualified technician look at the gearbox if you notice changes in sound, rate of fire or trigger response.
Wipe the wooden stock dry after damp games and treat it occasionally with a suitable wood oil or wax.
Who is it for?
The M1938 suits WWII players and reenactors, especially those portraying Italian or German forces, and collectors who appreciate real wood and metal.
Please note: Battery and charger are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s power limits before play.
