Description
Ares Amoeba Modular M4 AA (Compact Short – M4-AMSS-DE – Tan)
The Ares Amoeba Modular M4 AA is an M4-style electric rifle from Amoeba, the Ares sub-brand known for bold, modern styling and lightweight construction. This is the compact short version in tan (code M4-AMSS-DE). It combines a familiar M4 layout with Amoeba’s distinctive modular look, giving a rifle that is light, easy to handle and clearly different from a standard M4.
Amoeba rifles are designed to be approachable and practical, which makes them a popular choice for newer players, while the modular design and Ares engineering give experienced players a sound base to build on. The Modular M4 AA suits anyone who wants a light, modern rifle with character.
Design and handling
Our other Modular M4 AA listing gives safe, semi and full auto fire, a polymer six-position adjustable stock with the battery housed in the stock, and a 300-round magazine. The Compact Short is the shorter of the two compact lengths we list, aimed at players who want the quickest possible handling in buildings and vehicles.
The six-position stock lets you set the length of pull for your build and your kit, whether you are wearing a light chest rig in summer or heavier layers in winter. The tan finish suits desert and contractor themed loadouts and stands out from the many black rifles on most sites.
On the field
Light weight and a compact profile make the Modular M4 AA easy to carry through a full day and quick to bring onto target. Fit a red dot to the top rail for fast target acquisition, set the hop-up with 0.20g to 0.25g seamless BBs, and carry two or three spare magazines in pouches.
Because the battery sits in the stock, choose a battery shaped to fit the stock space; ask us if you would like a recommendation.
Modular accessories
Amoeba produces its own range of M-LOK modular accessories, several of which we list, so you can personalise the rifle in the same style. Standard M4-style external accessories, such as optics and slings, will also generally fit.

Compatibility
The rifle is designed around M4-style AEG magazines; Ares and Amoeba M4 magazines are the safest choice, and most standard M4 AEG magazines will also fit, though it is worth testing a new brand before a game.
Choose a battery that fits the stock space and check the connector type before ordering. Amoeba M-LOK accessories and standard 20mm rail accessories fit where the rifle has matching mounting points. 0.20g to 0.25g seamless BBs are a sensible starting point; heavier BBs often suit longer barrels once the hop-up is set.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it separately, at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the rifle. If you use LiPo batteries, charge them with a proper balance charger and keep them in a LiPo-safe bag, and never leave them charging unattended.
Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to remove dirt and residue, which helps keep the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.
Who is it for?

Please note: Battery, charger and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
