Description
ACM Mini Tamiya Connector Kit for Battery & Charger
This ACM kit is for fitting Mini Tamiya connectors to airsoft battery and charger leads. Mini Tamiya is one of the most common plug types on airsoft batteries, especially the smaller NiMH and LiPo packs that fit in crane stocks and handguards, so a kit like this is handy for repairs and for making your battery and charger match.
Connectors wear out, get cracked or pulled off, and sometimes you buy a battery or charger with a plug that does not match the rest of your kit. Rather than replacing an otherwise good battery, fitting a new connector gets it back into service. This kit is listed for both battery and charger use, so it suits players who like to keep their own gear running.
Why match your connectors
Every battery, charger and replica in your kit should use the same connector, or you end up relying on adapters. Adapters add another joint that can work loose, and they are easy to lose on a game day. Fitting Mini Tamiya connectors throughout keeps things simple.
Mini Tamiya plugs are small enough to fit in tight battery spaces. Some players move to other connector types for higher current, but Mini Tamiya remains a common standard on many stock replicas and batteries.
Fitting
Fitting a connector means cutting off the old plug, then soldering or crimping the new one in place and insulating each joint. If you are not confident with a soldering iron, ask a tech or an experienced friend to do it, because a poor joint can get hot or come loose.
Always fit one wire at a time so the positive and negative leads can never touch, and check the polarity against your existing battery, charger and replica before you connect anything. Mixing up polarity can damage electronics such as MOSFETs and chargers.
Key features
- ACM Mini Tamiya connector kit
- Listed for battery and charger leads
- Replace damaged or worn plugs
- Match your battery, charger and replica
- Small plug suits tight battery spaces
- Useful spare for your tool kit
Compatibility
Mini Tamiya connectors mate with other Mini Tamiya connectors. They do not fit Large Tamiya, Deans (T-plug) or XT-style plugs. Check the plug on your replica before ordering, and check the product images for the exact parts in the kit.
Care and maintenance
Keep spare connectors in a small bag or box so the pins do not get bent or lost. Once fitted, check the plugs now and then for cracks, melting or loose pins, and replace any connector that gets warm in use.
Always unplug by holding the connector bodies, not by pulling the wires, and keep connectors clean and dry.
Who is it for?
This kit is for players and techs who fit and repair their own battery and charger leads and want a supply of Mini Tamiya connectors to hand.
Please note: Fitting requires soldering or crimping; tools and wire are not included. Never short the battery leads while working on them.
