ACM PEQ-15 (Tan – TD173-DE)
This is the tan (desert) version of the ACM PEQ-15, code TD173-DE, a replica of the AN/PEQ-15 aiming laser and illuminator unit. Tan PEQ boxes are a familiar sight on desert-themed and special forces rifles, so this one suits players building an FDE or two-tone M4, HK416 or SCAR-style replica.
Replica PEQ boxes like this are popular for two reasons: they make a rifle look the part for milsim and photos, and many of them have space inside that can be used to store a small battery on rifles with limited battery room. What it is
A European retailer lists an ACM AN/PEQ-15 battery box in black as a non-functional (dummy) plastic box of roughly 11 x 7cm that mounts on a 20mm rail and has room inside for a small LiPo battery, supplied with marking stickers. Our listing uses a different code (TD173), so we cannot confirm it is identical; please check the product images.

Using a PEQ box
Most players mount a PEQ box on the top rail at the front of the handguard, where the real unit sits, or on a side rail. If you plan to store a battery inside, measure the space in the box against your battery and route the wires carefully so they cannot be pinched by the rail clamp or handguard.
Because it sits at the front of the rifle, the box adds a little weight forward. On most rifles this is barely noticeable, and some players like the extra stability it gives when shooting.

Compatibility
A retailer lists the ACM PEQ-15 box for 20mm Picatinny/Weaver rails, which covers most airsoft rifles and many SMGs. Check you have enough clear rail space for the box, especially if you also run an optic or a front sight. If you want to store a battery inside, measure your battery first, as only small packs will fit.
Care and maintenance
Wipe the box clean after games and avoid harsh solvents, which can mark the finish. Check the rail clamp is tight before each game, as a loose box will shift and rattle.
If you keep a battery inside, remove it when the rifle is not in use and check the wiring regularly for wear where it passes the rail.
