How a QD mount works
A QD lever replaces the screw clamp found on fixed mounts. Open the lever, place the mount on the rail, close the lever to lock it in place, and open it again when you want to take it off. Most QD levers can be adjusted for tension, so they lock firmly without needing excessive force.
Because it can be removed quickly, a QD mount is ideal if you share an optic or torch between rifles or want to take it off for safe transport. Check the mount is locked firmly before each game, as a loose mount will lose its position.
Fitting an accessory
Open the ring or clamp, place the accessory body in it and close it gently, tightening any screws a little at a time and alternating sides so the gap stays even. If the accessory is a 25mm item in a 30mm mount, use the correct reducer or insert if one is supplied. Do not over-tighten, which can mark or distort the accessory.

Check that the mount leaves enough room for your accessory and does not clash with sights or other kit.
Care and maintenance
Check the lever tension and any screws before each game, as vibration can loosen them. Wipe off mud and grit after play, keep the lever pivot clean and dry it before storing. A tiny drop of light oil on the lever pivot now and then keeps it moving freely.
