Compatibility
The AAP-01 uses G-series style gas magazines, and Action Army AAP-01 magazines are the safest choice for reliable feeding; other brands’ G-series magazines often work, but fit can vary between manufacturers. The 14mm CCW muzzle thread accepts most pistol suppressors and tracer units with that thread. A wide selection of AAP-01 specific stocks, shells and internal upgrades is available. For holsters, choose one made for the AAP-01 or check fit carefully before use, as the shape differs from standard service pistols.
Care and maintenance
Gas blowback pistols reward a little regular attention. Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few games so they stay supple and gas-tight, and wipe the outside of the slide rails and barrel with a lightly oiled cloth. Never use petroleum-based oils or solvents, as they can swell and damage rubber seals.
Fill magazines with the pistol pointing safely downwards and stop when gas starts to spit back from the valve rather than holding the can on longer. Store magazines with a small amount of gas in them so the seals stay seated, and keep the pistol and magazines somewhere cool and dry between games. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a soft cloth if accuracy drops, and only use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
