Description
Action Army Ruger MKIV Gas Blowback Pistol (AAP01 – Tan)
The Action Army AAP01, often called the Assassin, is a gas blowback airsoft pistol from Action Army, the Taiwanese company best known for its precision sniper parts and AAC T10 rifle. This tan version offers both semi and full-automatic fire in a compact, lightweight package, with internals built around the widely supported 17-series pistol platform.
The AAP01 has become one of the most popular pistols for players who like to customise. It accepts common 17-series gas magazines and can be fitted with an enormous range of upgrade parts and accessories, from barrels and hop-up rubbers to a folding stock that turns it into a compact, shoulder-fired CQB weapon.
Build and materials
The AAP01 uses aluminium alloy and fibre-reinforced polymer, with zinc alloy, plastic and steel parts where appropriate. That keeps it light, at around 655g, while remaining solid. Its distinctive fixed upper and outer barrel give it a sleek look unlike a conventional slide-and-frame pistol, and the tan finish suits desert and modern tactical loadouts.
Performance and internals
The AAP01 fires in semi and fully automatic modes. On full auto it empties a magazine very quickly, so it is best used in short bursts, while semi-auto is ideal for controlled shooting. The adjustable hop-up uses a VSR-style hop rubber for consistent, accurate flight; set the hop as described in the manual, because with no hop applied BBs can roll out of the barrel. The barrel length is 129mm.
Customisation
Action Army makes a folding stock for the AAP01, and suppressors and many other accessories are available. Combined with an extended 50-round magazine, a stocked AAP01 makes a compact and very effective CQB setup that is light enough to carry all day.

Care and maintenance
Lubricate magazine seals and fill valves with silicone oil every few fills and avoid overfilling. Store magazines with a little gas inside. Full-auto fire cools magazines quickly, so in cold weather keep spares warm in a pocket. Keep moving parts lightly lubricated with silicone oil, clean the barrel occasionally with a rod and dry patch, and use good quality seamless BBs.
Who is it for?
The tan AAP01 suits players who want a fast, light and highly customisable gas pistol, whether as a sidearm or, with a stock fitted, as a compact primary for CQB.
Please note: Gas and BBs are not included. Always wear suitable eye protection and check your site’s rules on full-auto pistols before play.
