Description
AGM L96 Spring Sniper Rifle (002C – OD)
The AGM L96 is a spring powered bolt-action airsoft sniper rifle, here in OD green with the model code 002C. It is styled on the L96, the British Army’s long-serving sniper rifle, with its instantly recognisable thumbhole stock and long, purposeful profile. The OD finish suits woodland sites and green kit, helping the rifle blend into hedgerows and undergrowth.
AGM’s L96 is one of the most popular ways into the sniper role. It offers the look and handling of a full-size sniper rifle at an approachable price, and because the L96 pattern is so widely supported, it can be improved with upgrade parts as your skills develop.
Build and materials
The rifle combines a polymer stock and magazine with an alloy receiver, keeping it sturdy where it matters. It weighs approximately 3.6kg and measures around 1.1 metres overall, giving it a planted, stable feel that helps when holding a sight picture. The rifle is supplied in two halves, which you join before use, and Allen keys are included for assembly.
Bolt-action spring power
Each shot is prepared by working the bolt, which compresses the spring and chambers a BB. Because the rifle is entirely mechanical, there are no batteries to charge and no gas to buy, and it behaves the same in cold weather as in summer. That consistency is a real advantage for sniping, where every shot should land in the same place.
Accuracy and hop-up
An adjustable hop-up lets you tune backspin to match your BB weight, so you can get a long, flat trajectory. Heavier, high-quality BBs are generally the best choice for a sniper rifle, as they are less affected by wind. Take time to set the hop-up and zero your optic at your typical engagement distance.
Fieldcraft and use
Sniping is as much about patience and concealment as it is about the rifle. The OD colour is a good start; adding a ghillie wrap or scrim helps break up the rifle’s outline further. Pair it with a scope suited to airsoft distances, and consider a bipod for steady shots from the prone position.
Choosing a scope
Airsoft engagements are short by real-world standards, so a modest, clear scope is usually more useful than a high-magnification one. A low, variable power optic gives a wide field of view for spotting movement while still letting you pick out a target hiding in cover. Fit it with rings that match the rifle’s mounting area, and make sure it is solidly attached before zeroing.

Compatibility

Care and maintenance
Store the rifle uncocked so the spring is not kept under tension. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and lint-free cloth, especially after damp or dusty days, and use clean, seamless BBs. Wipe down the receiver and keep the rifle in a padded bag or case for transport.
Who is it for?
Players taking their first steps into the sniper role, woodland players who want an OD rifle, and anyone looking for an upgradable L96 platform.
Please note: Scope and BBs are not included. Always wear eye protection and have your rifle chronographed at your site.
