Description

APS M50 Spring Action Rifle (420FPS, Multicam, APM50MC)

The APS M50 is a spring-powered, bolt-action airsoft sniper rifle, listed here in multicam under the code APM50MC. Our listing gives the rifle at 420FPS. A spring rifle needs no gas or battery: every shot is powered by the spring you compress when you work the bolt, which keeps performance consistent in any weather.

APS is a well-established maker of airsoft rifles, pistols and shotguns, and the M50 has a long, purposeful sniper profile. The multicam pattern helps break up the rifle’s outline in woodland and mixed terrain, which is exactly what a sniper needs when working from cover.

Why a spring bolt-action?

Spring rifles are simple, consistent and cheap to run. Because there is no gas, cold weather does not affect performance, and there are no batteries to charge. Each shot is deliberate, which encourages careful aiming and good fieldcraft, the core skills of a sniper.

Working the bolt compresses the spring and loads a BB ready for the next shot. A smooth, full bolt stroke each time helps keep the rifle feeding reliably, and keeping the rifle uncocked when you are not shooting helps the spring keep its strength.

Setting it up

Fit a scope with suitable mounts and zero it at your usual engagement distance with the BB weight you intend to use. Heavier, high-quality BBs tend to give the most consistent results from a bolt-action rifle. Set the hop-up carefully so the BBs fly flat at your chosen distance, then adjust the scope to match.

Check your site’s rules for bolt-action rifles, including minimum engagement distances, power limits and the need to carry a sidearm, and have the rifle chronographed before play.

Fieldcraft

A sniper rifle is only part of the role. Good camouflage, patience, a sensible position and a sidearm for close encounters will do as much for your results as the rifle itself. Practise working the bolt quietly and keeping still after each shot.

Compatibility

Buy spare magazines made for the APS M50 spring rifle; please check with us before ordering, as APS also makes gas-powered M50 rifles and parts are not always shared. Check how a scope mounts to your rifle before buying rings or a mount.

Use high-quality, seamless BBs; many bolt-action players prefer heavier BBs for stability at range once the hop-up is set.

Care and maintenance

Avoid dry-firing the rifle without BBs, as the piston then strikes the cylinder head without any resistance, which adds wear. Store it uncocked so the spring is not left compressed, and keep it in a padded bag or case so the barrel and any optic stay aligned.

Clean the inner barrel now and then with a rod and a lightly dampened patch, use high-quality seamless BBs, and keep the magazine and feed area free from grit. A sniper rifle rewards consistent ammunition, so once you have found a BB weight that suits your hop-up setting, stick with it.

Who is it for?

The APS M50 is for players who want to start sniping with a straightforward, weatherproof spring rifle, and for experienced snipers who want a dependable second rifle that needs no gas or battery.

Please note: A scope, BBs and accessories are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
