The APS Thor Power Up is a compact, pistol-style 40mm grenade launcher that lets you carry a grenade launcher as a sidearm. Light, robust and simple to use, it fires a wide variety of standard 40mm airsoft grenade shells, from BB shower shells to foam and pyro-style training rounds where your site permits them.
APS designed the Thor to solve a common problem with handheld launchers: inconsistent firing of demanding shells. Rather than relying on trigger pressure, it uses a lever action with an uprated firing pin spring, so it strikes harder and more consistently. That makes it a dependable choice for players who want to add area denial and bunker clearing capability to their loadout.
How it works
The Thor itself does not hold any gas. Instead, you fill each 40mm shell with gas and load it into the launcher. When you fire, the firing pin strikes the shell’s valve and releases the gas, propelling the BBs or projectile out of the shell. Because the shell carries its own power, you can reload with a pre-filled shell in seconds.
The lever action is not reliant on trigger pull pressure; instead a 150% firing pin spring drives the pin home, which the manufacturer says allows consistent firing of demanding shells.
Build and handling
The Thor is made from high quality plastic and weighs around 0.44kg, so it is light enough to carry on a belt or chest rig all day. Picatinny rails on the top and bottom let you add a torch, laser, grip or sight. A clip is included that can be used as a holster, so the launcher can be carried at your side ready to draw.
In use, it is held like a large pistol. Loading is quick, and its compact size makes it practical in buildings and tight spaces where a rifle-mounted launcher would be awkward.

Compatibility
The Thor accepts standard 40mm airsoft grenade shells. Shells are filled with gas according to their own instructions; most use green gas, so check the shell’s manual. The top and bottom Picatinny rails accept standard rail accessories.
Care and maintenance
Keep the chamber clean and free of dirt so shells seat correctly. Store shells with a small amount of gas and lubricate their seals with silicone oil to keep them in good condition, and never overfill a shell. Wipe the launcher down after outdoor games, keep the firing mechanism free of grit and store it somewhere dry.
