Archon Firearms Type B Gas Blowback Pistol (EMG/Armorer Works, Black, AR-TB0100)
The Archon Firearms Type B is an officially licensed gas blowback replica of Archon Firearms’ modern Type B pistol, produced by Armorer Works under the EMG licensing banner. It carries deep-engraved Archon Firearms trademarks and reproduces the distinctive features of the real Type B, including its ultra-low bore axis and aggressive slide styling.
Armorer Works has built a strong reputation for well-engineered gas pistols, and the Type B brings some interesting design ideas from the real pistol into airsoft. It suits players who want something different from the usual Glock-style sidearms, and anyone who appreciates a licensed replica with a sharp, modern look.
Design and build
The slide is CNC-machined aluminium, with front and rear serrations and a lightening cut, and the frame is a heavy-duty, fibre-reinforced polymer with aggressive slip-resistant texturing. An oversized trigger guard makes it easy to use with gloves, and the magazine release is reversible for left-handed shooters. An accessory rail under the frame takes lights and lasers.
The replica measures about 193mm long and 129mm tall, and weighs around 690g with the magazine, so it is compact enough to carry comfortably while still filling the hand.
Performance and internals
The Type B reproduces Archon’s AF-Speedlock system, a cam-activated floating locking block, together with a short-stroke barrel and an ultra-low bore axis. A three-stage recoil spring and dual recoil spring rod help give a distinctive recoil feel. The hop-up is adjustable, fire mode is semi-automatic, and a safety is fitted.
The pistol runs on green gas, red gas or propane, and the gas magazine holds 20 rounds.
Getting started
Fill the magazine with gas in short bursts, let it settle, then load BBs and fire a few test shots at a safe backstop with the hop-up off. Add hop gradually until shots fly flat. In cold weather, keep spare magazines warm in an inside pocket for more consistent performance.

Compatibility
Use Armorer Works/EMG Archon Type B magazines. The pistol runs on green gas, red gas or propane (with a suitable adapter and silicone oil). Holster fit for the Type B is specific to the pistol’s shape, so check that a holster is made for it before buying. The rail accepts standard pistol lights and lasers.
Care and maintenance
Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine’s fill valve and seals every few fills, and store magazines with a little gas in them to keep the seals tight. Wipe the slide rails and moving parts with a light film of silicone oil now and then, clean the inner barrel with a rod and patch, and use good-quality seamless BBs. Never use petroleum-based oils on the seals.
