Description
ARES Amoeba M4 CCR AEG Tactical (ARES-AM-001) (Blue)
This is the ARES Amoeba M4 CCR Tactical AEG, model AM-001, in blue. The CCR is one of the most compact members of the Amoeba M4 family: a short, light machine-pistol style M4 with a retractable stock, built around ARES’s electronic firing control system (EFCS) gearbox.
Amoeba by ARES is known for modern, distinctive designs and for bringing electronic triggers to affordable AEGs. The CCR is aimed squarely at CQB and close woodland games, where a short, light, responsive replica gives you a real advantage, and the blue finish makes it stand out.
Build
Retailer listings for the Amoeba M4 CCR Tactical describe a nylon fibre upper and lower receiver with a CNC aluminium handguard, an aluminium outer barrel with a mock silencer, and a nylon fibre extendable stock. They list the length as 370mm / 600mm, which reflects the stock retracted and extended, and a weight of around 2000g.
The handguard carries two Picatinny rails and two hand stops, and there is a top Picatinny rail on the upper receiver for an optic, so you can set it up with a red dot and a light for indoor games.
Performance and internals
The CCR uses ARES’s EFCS gearbox, which retailer listings describe as having a MOSFET built in at the factory, a gear sensor that stops the gears in the best position to keep the piston forward, protection that cuts power if the gearbox locks, a quick spring release and an adjustable trigger stroke. The listings also mention a high torque motor, a 6.03 brass inner barrel and an adjustable hop-up.
Electronic trigger control gives a crisp, fast trigger response and protects the internals, and the fire modes can be customised with ARES’s Electronic Gearbox Programmer, sold separately. Retailer listings give the battery range as 7.4V to 11.1V; please check the battery space before buying a pack.
Getting started
Before your first game, fully charge a suitable battery, fit it as the manual describes and connect it carefully. Load a magazine and start with the hop-up turned off, then fire a few shots at a safe backstop and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.
Get to know the short stock and compact layout before your first game, and practise changing magazines and swapping the battery so you can do it quickly.

Fire mode settings can be changed with the ARES Electronic Gearbox Programmer, sold separately. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it away from the replica, and charge LiPo batteries only on a proper balance charger that you are supervising. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry patch every few games, as dirt and broken BB fragments are the main causes of flyers.
Keep the battery fully charged, as electronic gearboxes work best with a healthy pack, and store the replica dry. Check rail screws and the stock before each game day, and leave internal work to someone experienced with ARES EFCS gearboxes.
Who is it for?
The CCR suits CQB players and anyone who wants a short, light, electronically controlled M4 with a distinctive blue finish, from newer players to experienced skirmishers.
Please note: A battery, charger and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection when using any airsoft replica, and have it chronographed at your site before play.
