Ares Amoeba Short Honey Badger with Extended Silencer (AM-014-DE – Blue)
The Ares Amoeba AM-014 is a short Honey Badger-style AEG fitted with an extended mock silencer, finished in blue for the UK market. The Honey Badger is a compact personal defence weapon design with a short barrel, a slim free-float handguard and a distinctive collapsing stock, and it has become one of the most popular platforms in airsoft for CQB. Ares’s Amoeba versions bring that look to a light, practical AEG with Ares’s electronic control inside.
At around 660mm long and 2.28kg, the AM-014 is compact and light, yet the extended silencer gives it a long, purposeful profile that stands out on the field. It is a great choice for players who want Honey Badger looks with a little more presence than the stubby versions.
Performance and internals
Inside is a full metal Version 2 gearbox with a 6.03mm copper inner barrel. The hop-up is adjustable, reached by opening the breach, so you can tune backspin for the BB weight you are using. The rifle fires semi and full auto as standard, and with the optional Ares/Amoeba Electronic Gearbox Programmer it can be set up for burst fire.
Build and handling
The free-float handguard keeps the front end slim, and the extended silencer is a mock unit that adds to the look rather than reducing noise. The extendable Honey Badger-style stock is light and compact, and the battery is stored in a small compartment in the stock; a 7.4V PEQ-style battery with a small Tamiya plug is recommended. The supplied 300-round mid-capacity magazine gives plenty of ammunition without the rattle of a high-capacity magazine.

Compatibility
Amoeba Honey Badger rifles use M4-pattern magazines; Amoeba magazines are the best fit, and many other M4 AEG magazines will also work, but try one before buying several. The stock battery compartment is small, so choose a compact PEQ-style battery (the type recommended for this rifle) and check the connector before ordering. Rail sections accept standard 20mm accessories. The gearbox is an Ares design, so check compatibility before buying internal parts.
Care and maintenance
Unplug the battery after every game and store it separately at the recommended storage charge. Use good quality seamless BBs, which protect the hop-up rubber and barrel and give more consistent flight. Clean the inner barrel periodically with a cleaning rod and a lightly dampened patch, then run a dry patch through. Wipe the rifle down after wet or muddy games and let it dry naturally before bagging it. Electronic gearboxes are best serviced by a technician familiar with Ares internals, so avoid opening the gearbox yourself unless you are confident.
