Description
Ares Amoeba Striker Sniper Rifle (Bolt Action, Black, AS01-BK)
The Ares Amoeba Striker AS01 is a spring-powered, bolt-action airsoft sniper rifle with a modern, ergonomic design, finished here in black. Rather than copying a particular real-world rifle, the Striker was designed for airsoft from the start, with a polymer stock that adjusts to fit the shooter and internals that take widely available upgrade parts.
Ares is a well-established Hong Kong airsoft manufacturer, and its Amoeba range is aimed at players who want practical, modern replicas at a sensible price. The Striker has become a popular first choice for players moving into the sniper role because it is light, comfortable and easy to tune, and it has enough upgrade support to grow with you as your skills develop.
Design and ergonomics
Redwolf Airsoft lists the Striker AS01 at about 1085mm long and 4.1kg, with a polymer stock. The same listing describes length-adjustable butt pads, a replaceable cheek rest and a replaceable finger-groove front grip panel, so you can set the rifle up for your build, your clothing and the way you hold it. Additional grip and cheek pieces are listed in the box.
The black finish is a classic choice that goes with any loadout and makes it easy to match scopes and mounts. Sling points let you carry the rifle comfortably on long stalks, and the polymer furniture will not rust, swell or dent if the rifle gets knocked about in the field.
Internals and hop-up
The Redwolf listing gives a 550mm, 6.03mm inner barrel and a 45-round magazine, with hop-up adjustment made with a hex key through the top rail. It also describes a cocking indicator, a steel loading nozzle, a short-stroke pull action and an adjustable trigger pull distance and pressure.
For upgrades, Redwolf states that the Striker accepts AEG springs and takes VSR-10-spec cocking handles, hop-up buckings and inner barrels. That opens up a very large range of parts, so you can start with the rifle as it comes and improve it one step at a time. Our shop also lists the Ares Amoeba Striker C.P.S.B. upgrade for this rifle.
In the field
A bolt-action rifle rewards patience. Each shot is cocked by hand, so there is no battery to charge and no gas to run out of in cold weather, and the rifle works the same on a frosty morning as on a summer afternoon. Spend time zeroing your scope with the BB weight you intend to use, and practise working the bolt smoothly without moving the rifle off target.
Redwolf lists compatibility with Ares long and short 45-round Striker magazines. Carry at least one spare magazine and a speed loader so you can top up during a long game.

Compatibility
Redwolf lists compatibility with Ares long and short 45-round Striker magazines, AEG springs, and VSR-10-spec cocking handles, hop-up buckings and inner barrels. Our Ares 55-round Striker magazine and Ares Amoeba Striker C.P.S.B. upgrade are made for this rifle; please confirm fit with us before ordering.
The top rail takes standard scope mounts. Use high-quality seamless BBs; once the hop-up is set, heavier BBs tend to be more stable at range.
Care and maintenance
Avoid dry-firing the rifle without BBs, as the piston then strikes the cylinder head without any resistance, which adds wear. Store it uncocked so the spring is not left compressed, and keep it in a padded bag or case so the barrel and any optic stay aligned.
Clean the inner barrel now and then with a rod and a lightly dampened patch, use high-quality seamless BBs, and keep the magazine and feed area free from grit. A sniper rifle rewards consistent ammunition, so once you have found a BB weight that suits your hop-up setting, stick with it.
When fitting upgrade parts, keep to one change at a time and test the rifle after each, so you know which part made the difference.
Who is it for?
The Striker suits players moving into the sniper role who want a comfortable, adjustable, modern rifle, and experienced snipers looking for an upgrade-friendly platform in a black finish.
Please note: A scope, bipod and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
