Description
Ares Amoeba Tactical M4 AEG With Silencer (ARES-AM-005-BK, Black)
The Amoeba Tactical M4 with Silencer is a compact AR-pattern AEG from Ares’s Amoeba range, finished in black. It combines a light nylon fibre receiver with a CNC-machined aluminium handguard and a silencer on an aluminium outer barrel, and it is built around Ares’s electronic firing control system (EFCS), which gives it features normally found only on upgraded guns.
Ares is a Hong Kong manufacturer known for its electronic gearbox technology, and the Amoeba line was designed to bring that technology to players at a sensible price. The result is a light, short, quick-handling rifle that is easy to carry all day and well suited to both CQB and woodland play, with a modern look that stands out from standard M4s.
Build and materials
The upper and lower receivers are nylon fibre, a tough polymer that keeps the weight low (around 2200g) without feeling fragile. The handguard is CNC-machined 6063 aluminium with two Picatinny rail sections and two hand stops, so you can fit a torch or laser and keep a consistent grip. A top Picatinny rail runs along the receiver for a red dot or scope, and the extendable nylon fibre stock lets you set the length of pull to suit your build and kit.
The silencer is fitted to an aluminium outer barrel and gives the rifle its distinctive profile. It also adds a little length to the front end, which helps the balance when you are aiming.
Electronics and internals
Inside is a cast zinc alloy gearbox with Ares’s EFCS fitted at the factory. The electronic trigger system lets you adjust the trigger stroke down to about 2mm for a very fast, crisp response. A gear sensor stops the piston in the forward position after each cycle, so the spring is not left compressed and less power is wasted. The gearbox protection system cuts power if the gearbox locks up after five trigger pulls, protecting the motor and gears; reconnecting the battery resets it.
Fire modes are safe, semi and full auto, and they can be reprogrammed (including burst settings) with Ares’s Electronic Gearbox Programmer, sold separately. A quick spring release makes it easy to change the main spring, and a high-torque flat motor drives the gearbox. The 6.03mm brass inner barrel and adjustable hop-up give you control over range and accuracy for the BB weight you use.
Handling
With its short length and low weight, the Amoeba is quick to bring on target and easy to move with through buildings and thick woodland. The 300-round magazine holds plenty of BBs for a game without frequent reloads, and includes a simulated round on top for realism.

Compatibility
The rifle runs on 7.4V to 11.1V batteries; check the battery space and connector before buying a battery. The top and handguard Picatinny rails take standard 20mm optics, torches and lasers. Spare magazines should be Amoeba or Ares M4 AEG magazines, or check compatibility with your retailer before ordering others. Use 6mm BBs; 0.20g to 0.28g seamless BBs suit most setups. The EFCS can be programmed with the Ares Electronic Gearbox Programmer.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out of the gun whenever you are not using it, and store LiPo batteries at storage charge in a fire-resistant bag. Never leave a battery charging unattended.
Use good quality, seamless 6mm BBs; cheap or damaged BBs are the most common cause of jams and can damage the hop-up rubber. Run a cleaning rod with a dry patch through the inner barrel every few games, and if a BB jams, clear it with the rod from the muzzle end with the battery removed.
After each game wipe the outside down to remove dirt and moisture, and let the gun dry at room temperature if it has been out in the rain. Turn the hop-up back off when storing it for long periods, and leave the gun on safe and on semi rather than full auto, so the spring is not left compressed.
Who is it for?
The Amoeba Tactical M4 suits players who want a light, compact M4 with modern electronic features at a reasonable price. It is a strong first rifle for new players and a practical, easy-to-carry option for experienced players who play a lot of CQB.
Please note: Battery and charger are not included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection and check the power limits at your site before play.
