Description
Ares M60-E4 AEG Support Weapon (MG-005)
The Ares M60-E4 is an electric support weapon replica of the M60E4, the modernised version of the famous American general-purpose machine gun. Sold under Ares code MG-005, it gives support gunners a big, imposing replica with a huge magazine capacity and a bipod for laying down sustained fire.
Ares is a Hong Kong manufacturer known for distinctive, well-built replicas of less common real-steel designs, and its machine guns are popular with players who want to take on the support role properly. The M60-E4 is one of the most recognisable support weapons in the world, and carrying one changes how you play the game.
Build
The body, outer barrel and flash hider are aluminium, with steel and nylon fibre used elsewhere, which keeps the replica strong while managing the weight. It is approximately 928mm long and weighs around 4.6kg, so it is substantial but manageable for a dedicated support gunner. An adjustable three-step bipod lets you set up quickly on the ground or across cover.
The box includes a dummy 7.62mm cartridge belt made of plastic, which adds to the authentic look of the gun on the field.
Firepower
The magazine is listed with a capacity of 4,000 rounds, which means you can keep firing for a long time between refills, exactly what a support gunner needs to pin down the opposition. The replica fires in fully automatic, with a safe setting, and has a 400mm inner barrel and an adjustable hop-up so you can tune it for range.
A support weapon is most effective when used to suppress: keep the enemy’s heads down while your team moves, and use the bipod for stable, sustained bursts. Check your site’s rules on support weapons, as many limit rate of fire, power or where they can be used.
Handling
The M60 shape is long and heavy compared with a rifle, so a good sling is a must. Practise moving, dropping to the bipod and getting back up quickly. Many support gunners also carry a pistol for close-range work when the main gun is too unwieldy.
Getting started
Charge a suitable battery fully and fit it as the manual describes, checking the battery type and connector first. Fill the magazine, start with the hop-up turned off and fire a few short bursts at a safe target, adding hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat at range.
Have the gun chronographed at your site before play, and practise reloading the magazine and changing the battery so you can do both quickly in a game.

Compatibility
Battery type and connector are not listed, so check the manual or ask us before buying a battery. Spare magazines and parts should be ones made for the Ares M60 series. Use good quality seamless 6mm BBs; because a support weapon gets through a lot of ammunition, buy BBs in bulk from a reputable brand.
Care and maintenance
Remove the battery whenever you are not using the rifle, and never leave a LiPo charging unattended. Run a cleaning rod with a clean patch through the inner barrel regularly to keep accuracy consistent, and only use clean, seamless BBs of a decent brand.
After muddy or wet games, wipe the outside down and let the rifle dry naturally before casing it. Check that rails, accessories and the stock are tight, and have any gearbox work carried out by an experienced technician.
Who is it for?
Ideal for dedicated support gunners, milsim players and fans of the M60 who want an authentic, high-capacity support weapon to suppress the opposition and anchor their team’s position.
Please note: A battery and charger are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye and face protection, and check your site’s rules on support weapons and power limits before play.
