The Ares x Amoeba Striker Tactical 01 (AST1-DE) is a spring-powered, bolt action airsoft sniper rifle finished in tan (dark earth). It is the facelifted, highly adjustable member of Ares’s Amoeba Striker range, built to be tuned to the shooter rather than the other way round.
The Amoeba Striker line is one of the most popular routes into airsoft sniping, thanks to its modern looks and the wealth of upgrade parts available. This tan (dark earth) version blends well with dry woodland, scrub and sandy terrain and pairs neatly with coyote and multicam kit.
Adjustability and design
Retailers list an adjustable cheek riser, adjustable butt pad, adjustable grip angle and an adjustable trigger, so you can set the rifle up for your own build and shooting position. The front end has M-LOK slots at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions for a bipod, light or hand stop, and a low-profile ‘stealth’ bolt handle keeps the outline clean.
The tan, or dark earth, finish softens the rifle’s outline against dry grass and earthy backgrounds, and it matches tan scopes, bipods and suppressors well.

In the field
Set the cheek riser so your eye lines up naturally behind the scope, adjust the stock length so you are not stretching, and you will find shots become noticeably more consistent. A bipod on the M-LOK rail gives a steady base when you are prone or shooting from cover.
As with any spring sniper, take your time, observe where your BBs land and adjust. Carry a sidearm for close range.
Getting started
Read the manual so you are familiar with the safety and loading. Load the magazine, work the bolt fully back and forward, and fire a few shots at a safe backstop with the hop-up off. Add hop gradually until the BBs fly flat at your usual engagement distance, then zero any optic to match.
Note the hop setting that suits your chosen BB weight so you can return to it, and have the rifle chronographed at your site before play.

Compatibility
Uses Ares Amoeba Striker magazines and is listed as compatible with the Striker line of parts and accessories. The M-LOK slots accept standard M-LOK bipods, rail sections and lights. Check the scope mounting rail in the photos before choosing your scope rings. Heavier, good quality BBs give the best accuracy from a spring sniper.
Care and maintenance
Never store the rifle cocked and avoid dry firing. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a rod and patch, and check that the stock, cheek riser and scope mounts are tight before each game, since adjustable parts can work loose.
Wipe the rifle down after wet or muddy games, let it dry naturally and store it in a padded case.
