Everything you need to start shooting accurately comes in the box apart from BBs: the rifle, a magnified scope and a bipod.
How it works
The Urban Sniper is a spring-powered bolt action. Lift and draw back the bolt to compress the spring and chamber a BB, push it forward and lock it down, then fire. Because every shot is cocked by hand there is nothing to charge or refill, and the rifle behaves the same in a cold January game as it does in mid-summer. It also teaches good habits: with one shot per cycle you learn to judge range, read the wind and make each BB count.
An adjustable hop-up lets you set the backspin on the BB to match the weight you are using and get the flattest, longest flight. Heavier BBs are recommended for this rifle (0.28g is the weight suggested by retailers), as they carry better at range and are less affected by wind than light 0.20g BBs.
Build and handling
The rifle uses a polymer body with metal used for the barrel and upper parts, which keeps the weight manageable for a full day on the field. The stock adjusts through six positions, so you can set the length of pull for your build or for the kit you wear, from a T-shirt in summer to a chest rig and smock in winter. A rail on top takes the supplied scope or another optic of your choice.
The black finish is the traditional choice for an L96-style rifle and suits almost any loadout, from woodland camouflage to urban greys, and it is easy to dress up later with wraps or a camouflage sleeve if you prefer.
Scope and bipod
The kit includes a 4×32 scope, which gives a useful step up in magnification for picking out targets in hedgerows and treelines, and an adjustable bipod that steadies the rifle when you are shooting prone or resting on cover. Together they make it much easier to put consecutive shots in the same place, which is what the sniper role is all about.

Compatibility
Many Type 96, APS2 and L96 parts will fit the Urban Sniper, although some may need a little modification, so it can grow with you as you upgrade. Note that it does not share the muzzle thread of the Well MB06, so check thread details before buying a muzzle device. Use quality seamless 6mm BBs; heavier weights such as 0.28g suit it best. Spare magazines should be the Urban Sniper type, so check the model before ordering.
Care and maintenance
Do not store the rifle cocked, as leaving the spring compressed will weaken it over time. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a cleaning rod and a lightly dampened patch to keep shots consistent, and never fire it without a BB (dry firing) more than you have to, as it puts extra stress on the piston. Keep the scope lens caps on in storage, wipe the rifle down after wet games and let it dry fully before casing it.
