Description
Barrett M82A1 Electric AEG Sniper Rifle Compact with Scope and Bipod (Snow Wolf – Black – SW-02CQB-A-BK)
Snow Wolf’s compact Barrett M82A1 brings the look of the famous .50 calibre anti-materiel rifle to the airsoft field in a shorter, more manageable package. Unlike most replica sniper rifles it is an electric gun (AEG): pull the trigger and the motor-driven gearbox does the work, so there is no bolt to cycle between shots and you can fire in semi or full auto. This version is finished in black, the classic look for this imposing rifle.
The package is unusually complete: a 3-9×50 illuminated scope with mounting rings, a height-adjustable bipod, a carrying handle, a sling and a high-capacity magazine all come with the rifle. If you want a rifle that stands out on the field and can still be used in a game, rather than just admired, it is hard to beat for presence.
Build and materials
The M82A1 is built almost entirely from steel and metal alloy, with only the pistol grip in durable plastic and a rubber recoil pad on the stock. That gives the rifle a reassuring solidity and a weight of around 6.2 kg, which is heavy for an airsoft gun but entirely in keeping with the real thing. The long top rail is pre-installed, so the supplied scope or your own optic can go straight on.
The compact layout brings the overall length down to about 1210 mm. It is still a big rifle, but it is noticeably easier to carry through woodland and in and out of vehicles than a full-length M82 replica, and the black finish keeps the look purposeful and understated.
Performance and internals
Inside is a reinforced Version 2 gearbox with steel gears, 7 mm metal bearings, a reinforced cylinder head and a vacuum piston head, driven by a long-type high-torque motor. Firing modes are safe, semi-auto and full-auto, using a mechanical trigger switch. The hop-up is adjustable so you can tune the BB’s flight to the weight you are using, and 0.23 g to 0.25 g BBs are a good match for this rifle.
The 300 mm inner barrel reflects the compact layout. In practice this means you should treat the M82A1 as a characterful support rifle rather than a precision bolt-action; with good BBs and a well-set hop-up it delivers steady, consistent shots that are more than adequate for normal skirmish ranges.
Handling on the field
With the bipod deployed the weight works in your favour, keeping the rifle stable while you watch a lane or a doorway through the 3-9x scope. The scope’s illuminated cross reticle helps in shaded woodland and at dusk, and the sunshade and lens covers keep glare and dirt off the glass. The carrying handle and sling make moving between positions far less tiring than the weight would suggest.
Because it is an AEG, follow-up shots are instant. That makes it more forgiving than a spring sniper rifle, especially for newer players, and the high-capacity magazine means you can stay in position for a long time between reloads.

Compatibility
The rifle uses a mini Tamiya connector, and an 8.4V large-type battery is the recommended pack. If you want to run a LiPo, check the battery size against the space in the rifle and consider adding a MOSFET to protect the trigger contacts. The pre-installed top rail accepts standard 20 mm Picatinny/Weaver-mount optics if you prefer something other than the supplied scope. Magazines are specific to the Snow Wolf M82 series, so buy spares to match this model.
Care and maintenance
Disconnect and remove the battery whenever the rifle is not in use, and store batteries in a LiPo-safe bag if you use LiPo packs. Use good quality, seamless BBs and clean the inner barrel with the cleaning rod and a lightly oiled patch from time to time to keep accuracy consistent. Wipe the metalwork down after damp games and keep the scope lenses covered when not in use. Do not leave the wind-up magazine fully wound for long periods, and store the rifle somewhere dry.
Who is it for?
For players who want a show-stopping support or marksman rifle that is easy to shoot well, with everything needed to get started in the box apart from a battery and charger. The black finish suits almost any loadout.
Please note: the battery and charger are not included. Always wear suitable eye protection when using airsoft replicas.
