Description
Battleaxe Airsoft M14 Series Tappet Plate
This Battleaxe tappet plate is a replacement part for M14 series AEGs. The tappet plate carries the air nozzle and is driven back and forth by the sector gear during each cycle, opening the feed path so a BB can enter and then pushing the nozzle forward to chamber the BB and seal behind it.
M14 AEGs use their own gearbox design rather than the common M4 or AK types, so tappet plates from those rifles will not fit. Having the correct replacement on hand makes repairs much easier when a plate eventually wears out.
When to replace it
If your M14 is misfeeding, double-feeding or losing power, the tappet plate is a likely suspect. Over time, the plate can crack, the tooth that meets the sector gear can wear, or the return spring can weaken. Any of these can upset the timing between the nozzle and the piston and reduce consistency.
Fitting
Fitting the plate requires opening the gearbox, so it should be done by someone confident with gearbox work or by a technician. Transfer your nozzle and tappet spring to the new plate, check that it moves smoothly and that the nozzle seals correctly against the hop-up, then reassemble.
Key features
- Tappet plate for M14 series AEGs
- Controls nozzle movement for feeding
- Common repair and service part
- Useful spare for M14 owners
- From Battleaxe
Compatibility
Designed for M14 series AEGs. M14 replicas from different makers can vary, so compare this plate with your existing part before fitting. Used with your existing nozzle and tappet return spring.
Care and maintenance
Inspect the tappet plate whenever the gearbox is open and replace it at the first sign of cracking. Apply a light touch of grease where the sector gear contacts the plate, but keep grease away from the nozzle and hop-up.
Who is it for?
M14 AEG owners and techs who need a replacement or spare tappet plate, so that a worn part does not end a game day early.
Please note: Always remove the battery and release spring tension before opening a gearbox.
