Fitting the cover
Stretch the cover over the crown of the helmet and ease it down evenly at the front, sides and back, then draw in the elastic rope so it sits snugly without bunching. Check that it does not cover anything you need to reach, and that mounts, rails, straps, goggles and headsets still work properly with it fitted.
Helmet covers are cut for particular helmet styles, so compare it with your helmet before cutting or modifying anything. If it feels loose, tightening the elastic rope will usually take up the slack.

Care and maintenance
After a muddy game, let the cover dry and shake or brush the dirt off. Hand wash it off the helmet in cool water with a mild detergent when needed, and let it dry naturally rather than near a heater.
Look over the stitching and the elastic rope regularly, replacing the cord if it goes slack. A dry, ventilated place is best for storing the helmet and cover.
