Description
Big Foot Zero Steel Mesh Goggles (Big) (Round Orifice) (OD)
The Big Foot Zero Steel Mesh Goggles (Big) in olive drab (OD) use a steel mesh lens with round openings in place of a plastic lens. Because air flows freely through the mesh, they do not fog up, which is the main reason many players choose mesh goggles for hot, humid or high-exertion games.
The Big size gives a larger frame and lens area than compact mesh goggles, which helps with field of view and fits comfortably over more face shapes. The olive drab frame suits woodland, green and military-style loadouts.
Design
The lens is a steel mesh with round holes, held in a moulded goggle frame. An elastic strap holds the goggles in place and can be adjusted to suit your head and any helmet or cap you wear. The goggle shape wraps around the eye area to help keep BBs out from the sides.
Looking through mesh takes a little getting used to: the view is slightly darker than through a clear lens, and in low light or at night it can be harder to pick out detail. Most players adjust within a game or two.
Mesh eye protection and site rules
Mesh offers good resistance to direct BB hits, but small fragments of a shattered BB can pass through mesh openings. For this reason some sites do not allow mesh eye protection, or only allow it with certain conditions. Always check your site’s rules before relying on mesh goggles as your main eye protection.
Key features
- Steel mesh goggles in olive drab (OD)
- Round-hole mesh lens
- Fog-free in heat and humidity
- Big size for a larger frame and wider view
- Adjustable elastic strap
- Goggle shape protects from the sides
- Pairs well with lower-face masks
Compatibility
Designed to be worn over the eyes on their own and with most lower-face masks, caps and helmets. They may not fit over prescription glasses; try them first if you wear glasses. Check your site’s rules on mesh eye protection before playing.
Care and maintenance
Brush dust and mud from the mesh with a soft brush after each game and wipe the frame with a damp cloth. Let them dry fully before storage to avoid rust on the mesh. Inspect the mesh before every game and replace the goggles if the mesh is dented, damaged or coming away from the frame. Check the strap for stretch or wear.
Who is it for?
Players who struggle with fogging lenses, those who play in hot or humid conditions, and anyone wanting low-cost spare eye protection, particularly with olive drab and woodland kit, at a site that accepts mesh.
Please note: mesh eye protection is not accepted at every site, as BB fragments can pass through mesh. Check your site’s rules, and always wear eye protection that your site approves.
