Description
Bolt AKSU74U B.R.S.S System Recoil
This is a Bolt Airsoft AKS74U-style electric rifle fitted with Bolt’s B.R.S.S. (Bolt Recoil Shock System). The B.R.S.S. moves the bolt with every shot, giving a real recoil kick and a sharp, mechanical sound that makes an electric rifle feel far more like the real thing.
The AKS74U is the famous short, folding-stock carbine of the Kalashnikov family, and its compact size makes it a favourite for CQB and vehicle-borne roles in milsim. Bolt is best known for its recoil system, and pairing it with the AKS74U creates a compact AEG with plenty of character.
The B.R.S.S. recoil system
Bolt’s B.R.S.S. system drives a moving bolt with each shot, so you feel a recoil impulse through the stock and grip and hear a distinctive report. It does not change how the BB is fired, but it makes training drills and games noticeably more immersive.
Because the recoil system adds moving mass, the rifle feels lively in the hands; some players find it helps them keep a natural rhythm on semi-automatic fire.
Build and handling
The AKS74U layout is short and handy, with a folding stock that folds to the side to shorten the rifle further for transport or tight spaces. The classic AK controls, with a large selector lever and paddle magazine release, are simple and robust.
Please check the product images for the exact furniture fitted to this version, as Bolt offers the AKS74U in several configurations.
Performance and internals
Bolt’s AKS74U BRSS rifles use a modified Version 3 gearbox to accommodate the recoil system. The hop-up is adjustable, and the rifle fires on semi and full auto.
Bolt AKS74U rifles are supplied with a mid-capacity magazine; spare AKS74U magazines from Bolt are the safest choice for reliable feeding. A small Tamiya connector is used on Bolt’s AKS74U BRSS range; please check the battery space before choosing a battery.
Getting started
Charge your battery on a proper charger and fit it following the manual. Load a magazine and test-fire at a safe backstop, starting with the hop-up off and bringing it up gradually until shots fly flat. A few minutes of zeroing at the range makes a big difference to your confidence on the field.
Practise magazine changes and battery swaps at home, and get the rifle chronographed at the site before your first game.

Compatibility
Use magazines made for Bolt AKS74U BRSS rifles, or ask us before buying other AK magazines, as fit and feeding can vary with recoil rifles. The gearbox is modified to work with the recoil system, so standard V3 parts may not all be interchangeable; check with a technician before upgrading. Check the battery space before buying a battery.
Care and maintenance
Remove the battery after every game and store it outside the rifle, charging it only on a suitable charger. Clean the inner barrel regularly with a rod and patch and use clean, seamless BBs.
Recoil rifles have more moving parts than a standard AEG, so check external screws and the stock hinge regularly, keep the rifle dry and have any internal work done by a technician familiar with Bolt recoil rifles.
Who is it for?
This rifle suits AK enthusiasts and CQB players who want a short, characterful carbine with real recoil, and milsim players building Russian or Eastern Bloc impressions.
Please note: Battery and charger are not named in this listing, so please check with us before ordering. Always wear suitable eye and face protection and have the rifle chronographed at your site before play.
