Description

Classic Army SR40 Sniper Rifle (Blue, D001-M-BE)

The Classic Army SR40 is a spring-powered, bolt-action airsoft sniper rifle with a modern, tactical stock, finished in blue under the code D001-M-BE. Each shot is cocked by hand with the bolt, so there is no battery to charge and no gas to run out of, and the rifle performs the same in winter as in summer.

Classic Army has been making airsoft replicas since the 1990s, and the SR40 is designed as an affordable, practical rifle for players moving into the sniper role. This blue version is clearly distinguishable from a real firearm, which some players and parents prefer for transport and storage.

Build and design

A US retailer listing for the SR40 describes a metal receiver with a Picatinny rail for mounting optics, a textured polymer stock and body, an adjustable cheek riser and a removable front swivel mount for a bipod, and calls the rifle lightweight. The adjustable cheek riser lets you line your eye up with the scope comfortably, which makes a real difference to consistency.

Colour: blue. Please check the product photos for which parts are blue and which are black; the blue furniture makes the rifle easy to identify in your kit bag and at the safe zone.

Internals and upgrades

The same listing describes the internals as VSR-10 compatible, with room for aftermarket upgrades. Customer reviews on that listing note that some internal parts are plastic and that the trigger guard is not VSR-10 compatible, so please check with us or a technician before ordering upgrade parts.

A sensible upgrade path is usually a better hop-up rubber and a tight-bore inner barrel first, then a stronger trigger set and spring if needed, staying within your site’s power limits. The listing gives a 30-round magazine; carry a spare and a speed loader for long games.

Compatibility

The listing describes VSR-10 compatible internals, but reviewers report that not every part interchanges, so check fit with us before ordering. Standard Picatinny or 20mm scope mounts fit the receiver rail, and the front swivel mount takes a swivel-type bipod.

Use high-quality seamless BBs; once the hop-up is set, 0.25g or heavier BBs tend to be more stable at range.

Care and maintenance

Avoid dry-firing the rifle without BBs, as the piston then strikes the cylinder head without any resistance, which adds wear. Store it uncocked so the spring is not left compressed, and keep it in a padded bag or case so the barrel and any optic stay aligned.

Clean the inner barrel now and then with a rod and a lightly dampened patch, use high-quality seamless BBs, and keep the magazine and feed area free from grit. A sniper rifle rewards consistent ammunition, so once you have found a BB weight that suits your hop-up setting, stick with it.

A reviewer on the US listing reports that the rifle arrives with factory grease; it is worth having it cleaned and lubricated properly before your first game.

Who is it for?

The SR40 suits players moving into the sniper role on a budget who want a light, modern rifle with an adjustable cheek riser and a path to upgrades, and anyone who wants a distinctive blue rifle.

Please note: A scope, bipod and BBs are not listed as included. Always wear suitable eye protection, and full-face protection where your site requires it, when using or testing any airsoft replica.
