CSA by Ares VZ58M AEG Tactical (Large – FSCU – VZ58-003)
The CSA VZ58M Tactical is an officially licensed replica of the Czech VZ58 rifle, built by Ares. This is the Large version (code VZ58-003), the largest of the three VZ58M Tactical configurations we list, with the longest front end for a steadier hold. The VZ58 is a refreshing alternative to the usual AK and M4 platforms, with a distinctive slab-sided receiver and a look all of its own.
Ares is a well-regarded airsoft manufacturer, and its VZ58M Tactical rifles pair the classic Czech design with modern touches, including a collapsible stock on an M4-type buffer tube and Ares’ FSCU electronic fire control. We also list the Small and Medium versions.
Electronics and internals
FSCU is Ares’ electronic fire control system. Rather than relying solely on mechanical trigger contacts, it manages the firing cycle electronically, which helps protect the contacts and gives a crisp, responsive trigger. Our other VZ58M listings give the rifle as using a 7.4V LiPo battery with a small Tamiya connector.
Because the battery space is limited, choose a compact pack; we list several VZ58-compatible 7.4V LiPo batteries, including stick types made for this rifle. If you are unsure which battery to buy, contact us before ordering.
Handling
The collapsible stock on an M4-type tube lets you set the length of pull to suit your build and kit, and means you can swap to an alternative M4-type stock if you prefer. The Large configuration gives the most room on the front end and a steady, rifle-like feel, which suits woodland play.
Ares makes a matching range of VZ58 accessories, including a top rail system and tactical handguard for mounting optics and lights, plus a flash hider and a silencer. The VZ58 shape is quite different from an AK, so always choose accessories listed for the VZ58.

Compatibility
Use Ares VZ58 AEG magazines; AK magazines are not compatible. We list a VZ58 mid-cap magazine separately. The stock tube accepts M4-type stocks.
Ares’ VZ58 rail system, tactical handguard, side scope mount, flash hider and silencer are the matching options for this rifle. Seamless BBs of 0.20g to 0.25g are a good starting point.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it separately at a sensible storage charge, rather than leaving it connected inside the replica. Charge LiPo batteries with a proper balance charger, keep them in a LiPo-safe bag and never leave them charging unattended; NiMH packs should be charged with a smart charger that stops when the pack is full.
Run a cleaning rod with a lightly dampened patch through the inner barrel from time to time to clear dirt and residue, which keeps the hop-up consistent. Use good-quality seamless BBs, never reuse BBs that have been on the ground, and wipe the outside over after damp or muddy games. Leave gearbox work, shimming and spring changes to a competent technician.
An electronic fire control system works best with a well-charged battery, so recharge before the pack runs very low.
