CSA by Ares VZ58M AEG Tatical (Medium – FSCU – Blue – VZ58-002)
The CSA VZ58M Tactical by Ares (VZ58-002) is an officially licensed electric replica of the Czech VZ58 rifle, in the Medium length and finished in blue. Ares produces the replica under licence from CSA (Czech Small Arms), and fits it with its FSCU electronic fire control.
The VZ58 offers a distinctive alternative to the usual AK and M4 rifles, and the Tactical configuration brings it up to date with a modern collapsible stock on an M4-type tube. The Medium length is a good all-rounder for both woodland and buildings.
Design and licensing
The VZ58 is a Czech design, quite different from the AK despite a passing resemblance, and the CSA licence means the replica carries the original maker’s approval. Ares’ electric replica of the VZ58 takes Ares VZ58 magazines; AK magazines will not fit, as the magazine lips and catch differ.
This version is fitted with Ares’ FSCU electronic fire control, which manages the trigger electronically for a crisp response and less wear on the trigger components.
Tactical configuration
The Tactical version uses a collapsible stock on an M4-type buffer tube, so you can set a comfortable length of pull and even fit an aftermarket M4-type stock if you prefer. The Medium length strikes a balance between handiness and a steady sight picture.
Ares makes a VZ58 top rail system and tactical handguard for adding optics and accessories.
Battery
The VZ58 Tactical is designed for a 7.4V LiPo battery with a small Tamiya connector. Check the battery space before buying and always charge LiPos on a balance charger under supervision.
Getting started
Before your first game, charge your battery fully on a suitable charger, fit it and check the rifle fires on safe, semi and auto as expected. Set the hop-up from zero, adding a little at a time until the BB holds a straight, flat line, and then check where it lands at the distances you usually shoot.
Your site will chronograph the rifle before play. Spend a few minutes learning how to change the battery and clear a jam so you are not doing it for the first time mid-game.

Compatibility
Use Ares VZ58 AEG magazines; AK magazines are not compatible. The stock tube accepts M4-type stocks. Ares’ VZ58 top rail system and handguard are the matching options for optics and accessories.
Care and maintenance
Unplug and remove the battery after use, store LiPos in a fire-safe bag, and charge them on a balance charger you are watching. Keep the inner barrel clean with a rod and patch, because a dirty barrel or hop-up rubber is the most common cause of poor grouping.
Use good quality, polished BBs and avoid reusing BBs picked up from the floor. Keep the rifle dry, check all external screws now and then, and leave internal servicing to someone who knows AEGs well.
