Description
Cyma 74 Classic AEG (CYMA-CM048 – 1.5j – Semi Only)
The Cyma CM048 is an AKM-pattern electric rifle from Cyma’s Classic range, recreating one of the most recognisable rifle designs in the world. This version is listed as 1.5J and semi-automatic only, which makes it a good fit for sites, roles or game formats where full auto is restricted, and a sensible rifle for players who want to make every shot count.
Cyma’s CM048 family has been one of its most popular AK lines for many years, thanks to its strength, reliability and sensible price. The classic AKM silhouette never goes out of style, and it suits Cold War, Eastern Bloc and general skirmish loadouts equally well.
Build and handling
Cyma builds its CM048 rifles with metal bodies, and the traditional AK controls are simple and robust: a large selector lever on the right of the receiver and a paddle magazine release in front of the trigger guard. Magazines rock in and out in the familiar AK fashion, which quickly becomes second nature.
Please check the product images for the furniture and stock fitted to this version, as the CM048 family includes both fixed and folding stock models.
Performance and internals
The CM048 family uses a metal Version 3 gearbox, the standard AK gearbox, with an 18:1 standard gear set, so spares and upgrades are easy to find. The hop-up is adjustable to suit your chosen BB weight, and the outer barrel takes 14mm counter-clockwise muzzle devices.
On this version the selector moves between safe and semi-automatic only, as listed. A semi-only AKM is ideal for players who prefer accurate, aimed shots and for sites or game formats where full auto is not allowed.
Getting started
Fully charge a suitable battery before first use, then fit it as described in the manual and connect it carefully. Load a magazine, wind it if it is a high-capacity type, and start with the hop-up turned off. Fire a few shots at a safe target and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.
Have the rifle chronographed at your site before you play, and keep a note of the hop setting that suits your favourite BB weight so you can return to it quickly.

Compatibility
These rifles take AK-pattern AEG magazines. Cyma AK magazines are the safest choice, and most mainstream AK magazines fit, although some may be a little tight or loose, so try a spare before relying on it in a game. Check the battery space and connector before buying a battery, as AK-pattern rifles have limited room for a pack.
Side-rail optic mounts made for AK-pattern replicas are a popular way to add a red dot or scope; check the mount suits your rifle before ordering.
Care and maintenance
Take the battery out after every game and store it away from the rifle, and charge LiPo batteries only on a proper balance charger under supervision. Clean the inner barrel with a cleaning rod and a dry cloth patch every few games, as dirt and broken BB fragments are the main causes of flyers. Stick to good quality seamless BBs of a consistent weight.
Check screws, the flash hider and any mounts before each game day, and store the rifle somewhere dry. Leave the hop-up at a light setting in storage, and if the rifle has an electronic trigger unit, a fully charged battery helps it read the trigger cleanly.
Who is it for?
The CM048 suits players who want a traditional, sturdy AKM for semi-only or restricted-fire play, and collectors of classic Eastern Bloc replicas.
Please note: A battery and charger are not named in this listing, so please check with us before ordering. Always wear suitable eye and face protection when using or testing any airsoft replica.
