The Cyma CM048SU is a full metal electric rifle from Cyma’s AKM Classic range, fitted with a folding stock. It keeps the traditional, uncluttered AKM look while folding down for transport and tight spaces, which makes it a versatile rifle for both woodland and CQB.

Build and handling
Full metal construction gives the rifle a solid, authentic feel and stands up well to the knocks of regular play. The folding stock lets you shorten the rifle for vehicles, buildings and transport, and locks out for a stable shoulder when you need to take aimed shots.
The classic AK controls are all present: the large safety and selector lever on the right of the receiver, the paddle magazine release and the rock-in magazine change. Simple AK iron sights let you shoot accurately without an optic, and an AK side-rail mount can be added for a red dot.
Performance and internals
Like the other AKM Classic models, it uses the AK-pattern Version 3 gearbox, the most common AK design, so spares and upgrades are easy to find. The adjustable hop-up lets you tune the rifle for the BB weight you prefer.

Getting started
Fully charge a suitable battery before first use, then fit it as described in the manual and connect it carefully. Load a magazine, wind it if it is a high-capacity type, and start with the hop-up turned off. Fire a few shots at a safe target and add hop a little at a time until the BBs fly flat without rising at the end of their flight.
Have the rifle chronographed at your site before you play, and keep a note of the hop setting that suits your favourite BB weight so you can return to it quickly.

Compatibility
The rifle takes AK-pattern AEG magazines; Cyma AK magazines are the safest choice, and some other brands may need slight fitting, so try a spare before relying on it in a game. AK side-rail optic mounts suit the rifle.

Care and maintenance
Remove the battery whenever you are not using the rifle, and never leave a LiPo charging unattended. Run a cleaning rod with a clean patch through the inner barrel regularly to keep accuracy consistent, and only use clean, seamless BBs of a decent brand.
After muddy or wet games, wipe the outside down and let the rifle dry naturally before casing it. Check that rails, accessories and the stock are tight, and have any gearbox work carried out by an experienced technician.
