Description
Cyma CM040B AK105 (Metal Body – CYMA-CM040B – 1.5j – Semi Only)
The Cyma CM040B is an electric replica of the AK-105, the shortened carbine member of the AK-100 family, with a metal body and a side-folding stock. This version is listed as 1.5J and semi-automatic only, which makes it a good fit for sites, roles or game formats where full auto is restricted, and a sensible rifle for players who want to make every shot count.
The AK-105 sits neatly between a full-length AK and the very short AKS-74U: it keeps a usable barrel length while being noticeably handier than a full rifle. Cyma’s version is a popular, well-built choice for players who want a compact Russian-style rifle that works both indoors and in woodland.
Build and materials
A European retailer lists the CM040B with a steel frame, larger metal parts in steel and smaller metal parts in cast alloy, with the handguard and pistol grip in fibre-reinforced plastic. The sheet-metal stock folds to the side, giving an overall length of about 605mm folded and 835mm extended, with a listed weight of around 3.2kg.
That combination gives the rifle a solid, authentic feel. The folding stock is ideal for getting in and out of vehicles and buildings and for transport, while unfolding it gives a stable cheek weld for aimed shots.
Performance and internals
Inside is a Version 3 gearbox, the standard AK design, with 7mm steel bearings, so spares and upgrade parts are easy to find. The inner barrel is listed at 390mm, and the hop-up is adjustable to suit your BB weight. The battery is stored under the receiver’s top cover.
On this version the selector offers safe and semi-automatic only, as listed. Combined with the AK-105’s handy size, that makes it a good rifle for players who prefer considered, accurate shots over volume of fire.
Getting started
Charge your battery on a proper charger and fit it following the manual. Load a magazine and test-fire at a safe backstop, starting with the hop-up off and bringing it up gradually until shots fly flat. A few minutes of zeroing at the range makes a big difference to your confidence on the field.
Practise magazine changes and battery swaps at home, and get the rifle chronographed at the site before your first game.

Compatibility
These rifles take AK-pattern AEG magazines. Cyma AK magazines are the safest choice, and most mainstream AK magazines fit, although some may be a little tight or loose, so try a spare before relying on it in a game. Check the battery space and connector before buying a battery, as AK-pattern rifles have limited room for a pack.
Side-rail optic mounts made for AK-pattern replicas are a popular way to add a red dot or scope; check the mount suits your rifle before ordering.
Care and maintenance
Remove the battery whenever you are not using the rifle, and never leave a LiPo charging unattended. Run a cleaning rod with a clean patch through the inner barrel regularly to keep accuracy consistent, and only use clean, seamless BBs of a decent brand.
After muddy or wet games, wipe the outside down and let the rifle dry naturally before casing it. Check that rails, accessories and the stock are tight, and have any gearbox work carried out by an experienced technician.
Who is it for?
The CM040B suits players who want a compact, metal-bodied AK-105 for semi-only or restricted-fire play, and fans of modern Russian rifles who want a dependable carbine.
